Why was a Dawson win changed to a NC because of Marijuana?

Obviously because it's a banned substance. The same reason Ricky Williams was suspended 18,000 times in the NFL.

Hash raises the painthreshold hence the ban.

So why would the win be discredited for that?

Who cares if fighters are toking up, if anything it hurts their chances of winning and its not like it puts their opponent at a disadvantage so there to me seems to be nothing in that win that is tainted.
They suspended him too.All that did was make him more dedicated to his craft and now he's like "See, Look what you made me do!"

Although it's only Marijuana, it is still a banned substance regardless if it enhances your performance or not.

If you were high during the fight, it'd do way more harm than good.

Probably. I'm just trying to give a reason.

                  for sure.

Weed can stay in your system for a long time so it's more likely that Dawson smoked once or several times after some tough training sessions and that **** simply stayed in his system.

I remember reading some **** about Dawson and he talked about some of the mistakes he made when he was younger and growing from that and he seems to be a clean family man now.

I wouldn't fault him here. Lots of young men smoke weed.
