That doesn't matter, boxers move up in weight all the time.. the champion in one division is entitled to move up to the next division, just like Pacquiao did. Clottey was no more deserving than Bradley. Clottey was coming off a LOSS, Bradley has never lost..
Clottey was the #1 contender at WW, so how can you jump on him? If he fought Bradley, he would have gotten so much **** for fighting a JW, Kind of like the crap Khan gets for wanting to fight Katsidas or Marquez.

I'm not jumping on him, though.

Why is everything on this forum either your totally ****riding someone or you hate them?

      I like Joshua Clottey.

I am just saying, he was coming off a loss.. and Bradley is an undefeated champion at the lower weight class.

Me personally, as a hardcore boxing fan, would have peaked my interest a lot more.

You are forgetting one thing. Clottey is a ***ing former welterweight Champion. Who the *** is bradley in the WW division? Bradley maybe undefeted but so is Julio Ceasar Chavez jr and we arn't clammerring for that guy to fight Pac are we? Clottey has been in the ring with world champions and PFP top 10 fighters thats what makes him a suitable fighter for pac. Bradley's resume is littered with ole timers and never ammount to **** contenders. There is a giant diffrence in world class experience between Clottey and Bradley. Thats why Clottey in my eyes is a much better choice.

          right on shaw....

arum pits his fighters against his own fighters, so that if one gets knocked off, he'll have the other to replace them. pacquiao stopped cotto 8 months ago, and margarito hasn't even be reinstated yet, but these are the only 2 opponents you hear arum mentioning as possible replacements for mayweather.

arum's act is getting old now, and it's time people realize it.

i don't like timothy bradley, and i don't think he deserves a pacquiao fight at this point, but shaw is on point when he asked, "who was joshua clottey, before he fought pacquiao?"

Oh yea me too i would have loved Pac-Bradley, but theres reasons Pac fought Clottey and people just have to accept that

Clottey was coming off a loss but it was a loss that A. was a disputed decision in a fight that most people felt could of gone either way and B. it was against Cotto who is on a whole nother level of class when compared to the fighters on Bradleys record.

Its not news that Arum is a slick ***....that Harverd education really worked out for him

Clottey just lost to the guy that Pac just destroyed.

Clottey is a solid welterweight and there is no dispute in that, but given his loss to a fighter that just got dismantled to someone who is now going to figth him?

JCC Jr. also isn't the best fighter in his division, he barely cracks the top 10.

Bradley is in fact the best fighter in his division, and has beaten a world champion in his own country to take that belt.

NEITHER fighter has a fan base.

But as a product, I see Bradley being easier to sell than Clottey... when all the recent events are taken into consideration.

Lets also not be fooled. If Clottey was under Shaw, and Bradley was under Arum... that fight would be in the playlist one way or another.

Are people on here actually saying Clottey is a tougher test than Tim Bradley.

Bradleys record isn't that bad? For how old he is and how many pro fights he has had? Junior Witter, Edner Cherry, Nate Campbell, Lamont Peterson, Kendall Holt.

Either way he has taken care of business, and beaten who has been put in front of him.

A guy coming off a loss is less deserving than the #1 ranked fighter and champion at the lower weight class.

Fighters move up in weight all the time.
