De La Hoya came out and lost a SD. Floyds dad even thought Floyd lost.

Floyd does do well against guys with great combos and lots of them. And oscar was the best at letting go 6-8 punch combos.

If an old hoya almost beat him, imagine what a prime hoya would have done!!
That fight should not have been a SD... Oscar won 3 rounds 4 if you generous. I don't care what Sr says he is entitled to his opinion. But, I bet you with all his knowledge can point out what 7 rounds Oscar won. Because, it was impossible to give Oscar more then say 5 rounds.

An old, done. part time fighter, full time promoter didn't almost beat Floyd. He didn't even come close to it. And, if Floyd really would of taken some chances and push it a little bit more he would of stopped Oscar late. Floyd played it safe, carried Oscar by coasting to a decision. When in reality Floyd could of done so much more. He was so much more superior than Oscar.

It was clear to see that floyd won that fight, the split decision really flattered de la hoya.

On top of that, de la hoya was the much bigger man in that fight and floyd still beat him.

I think what you mean to say is, a prime de la hoya would whoop manny pacquiao's ass! Imagine pacquiao outweighed de la hoya on fight night, what a disgrace letting oscar in the ring in that condition.
What weight do you consider a prime De la Hoya? And, how did a "prime" Oscar do against southpaws? And, how did Oscar do in big fights against guys who were not ruined or shot as hell?

FWIW I also feel no version of Oscar or Shane could beat this version of Manny Pacquiao. Oscar doesn't fair to well against southpaws with speed and neither are very cerebral (Shane or Oscar) IMO. Both Manny(current version) and Floyd beat any version of Shane and Oscar.

That is what I am saying 100 times out of 100 with fair judges Whitaker beats Oscar.

i thought size doesn't matter to floyd. he beats people with skill like in the marquez fight so why are you crying about size now? oh it only matters when floyd is the small guy gotcha.

Well Oscar (Overall) was quicker then Mayweather. In his prime he would be able to utilize that due to his footwork. A prime Oscar was very fast on his feet. He was also more consistent with the jab.

Only reason why De La Hoya lost a Split Decision was because Julie Ledderman decided to give the fight to De La Hoya. The same woman who gave the fight to Demetrious Hopkins against Kendoll Holt in a fight Holt clearly won and the other two judges scored it correctly for Holt. Even her dad scored the fight correctly for Floyd.

It would have been a UD if Julie wasn't payed off by De La Hoya or maybe he did her or something to give him more rounds.

I don't know if Pac could beat any version of Shane. Mosley at 135 was pretty damn good. Pac might have struggled with Shane LW version and WW version of 1999-2001. At that time Shane was really good combo puncher and body puncher. He later started looking for the one punch a little bit too much. But, 2001 and earlier version he was a fast, hard hitting combination puncher.

It would of been a hell of a fight.
