I'm sure it was said somewhere in these 15 pages. The 4 million was a number thrown out there by GBP to generate hype. Nobody knows if GBP expected 2 million buys. We don't have any real way to gauge how much money was spent on promotion or how much money was really made. The fight was in no way a flop. A flop would be a situation where they either made very little money or were in the negative. If they truly expected 2 million, maybe you can label the fight a slight disappointment.
GBP expecting 4million and getting 1.4ppv numbers a success?

again, no response. Nice try though, it's funny how you break down the math on how they lost all this money expecting 4 million buys, then own yourself by saying they probably expected 2 million, and yet still it's a flop, or flap as you put it. What's even funnier is that you keep saying that almost half agree with you, as if it validates it, and then claim it's just opinions when people point out the fact that the poll is against your opinion overall.
I'm done wasting my time, again nice try.Comment

If Golden Boys were saying to themselves, 1.4 million is realistic then they could have hyped it up by saying expect over 2million PPV buys. From what you are all saying that in itself would have been great.
If Floyd fans are OK with them saying 4 million is acceptable to say then why stop there. Next time they can say 8 million and that's OK with you because all it was is hype.Comment

Exactly, 4 million is completely unrealistic, they were just trying to hype the fight. I seriously doubt anyone at GBP actually expected to get the biggest fight in history against Mosley, and even if they did, it wouldn't have been by 1.5 million buys. Margarito beat Cotto in a great ppv performance and wasn't even able to get his fight with Mosley on ppv.Comment

Thanks for posting this..... see you would say close to 2 million but you wouldn't say 4 million if you are expecting 1.4 million. To hype it more they could of said "more than" 2 million instead of "close to"
Thanks again for clearing this up and proving my point!
Note: I didn't see or read from any link so I'm just taking your word on this Vito....Comment
