Ali would embarrass today's heavyweights.
Would Ali have stayed undefeated if he faced the same opposition as Wlad?

Ali is the better fighter overall, but styles make fights and I think Wladimir beats hum by Unanimous Decision.
You need Power or an Extraordinary chin to beat Wlad and Ali doesnt have either of these things.Comment

These threads are always the same:
Some CLAYtons gather and then pat each other on the back mumbling "Ali would decapitate the current division".
This is some useless entertainment as it's based on US-boxer glorification and DEFINITELY not on Ali's REAL record.
Ali was a former cruiser (actually sub-cruiser) and was 6'3'' and 220+. This is approximately like Eliseo Castillo. Ali would make as much impact as Eliseo did on the heavyweight scene.
Approx. 20 opponents of Klitschko would beat (not necessarily KO) Ali including Chris Byrd, Tony Thompson, Sam Peter etc.. Without any big problem.Comment

This is true.
Wlad's performance vs Foreman's performance

I don't know what you are watching but it can't be Ali.Ali was a master of illusion and would have little trouble creating openings that the average fighter wouldn't be able to uncover. I would be shocked to see Wlad land many jabs on Ali, as he was as elusive as they come, and it's going to take much more than a jab to hurt him.
Clay/Ali is a walking punchbag with a complete absence of any kind of defense. Just tune in to any fight you want (where he is 200+ and his opponent, too). Ali eats even the slowest punches.

Go, Clay, go! Your experience at light heavyweight will surely be of great help!

Chimp War! Wlad will be terrified of your cute little chicken breast.Last edited by knn; 06-18-2010, 04:00 PM.Comment

Its hard to say, anything could happen and the fighters today on average are bigger than the HWs of the past though I would think Ali could box his way to a UD against most if not all of Wlad's opponents......maybe Chambers could present some problems for him though being a fast and very technically skilled not to mention fighter closer to Ali's size.
On another note, I don't see why ppl act like your crazy if you even suggest that its remotely possible for Wlad to have beaten the best version of Ali. He is much bigger, a harder puncher, and a very technically skilled HW. Its not a style that Wlad has shown problems against and Ali does have not possess the type of style and attributes that conventionally would be problems for Wlad.Last edited by Spray_resistant; 06-18-2010, 03:51 PM.Comment
