First big PPV...received exposure via HBO 24/7 off the back of the biggest PPV star of the last 15 years (Oscar), result big PPV numbers, it's simple math.

Second PPV...faced an opponent that many had perceived as entertaining and television friendly with a marketable personality, accompanied once again by having the promotional tool of 24/7 behind it.

I believe and this is only my humble opinion, that Marquez fight was more of a residual effect and that soon the luster of "the gangsta" persona will wear off and you'll begin to see the numbers dip if he faces anyone perceived as a soft-touch. In other words I believe you put together similar ingredients of Mayweather and Clottey coupled with the Dallas Stadium, one Floyd can't sell it out and two his numbers would be comparable to the 700k.

the same goes for manny he got big after he fought oscar and ricky and boith his fights with oscar and ricky did not sell as much as floyds fights with oscar and ricky
and how many times did shane mosley have a ppv that sold 1.4?

I am and I'm certain that you are the same, again and again I repeat I'm not relating my question to PPV numbers. Floyd sells more than Pac....YES. We already know that Sugar Pants. I'm comparing overall popularity with the mainstream public, which can be measured by more than simple PPV numbers. Keep in mind that Manny isn't even American and is more popular in this country than a fellow national as it relates to American media...it's as simple as that.

I understand that, but there isn't this big disparity in overall numbers as everyone likes to project. One fighter is the best in his country (US) and isn't interesting to mainstream media, while the other is an international sports figure (non-american) being interviewed by major American media companies that is amazing in and of itself. You think 60 minutes would do a feature on Floyd? If so what's that gonna be like? Mike Wallace riding around on a segway together with Floyd and Ellerbe.

Why did Oscar's PPV numbers with Floyd surpass ALL of his previous numbers by a country mile? Did Floyd not have anything to do with this? This is a serious question.

Why did this supposedly highly entertaining guy (Hatton) not post better PPV numbers when he fought another highly entertaining guy (Pac) who was also post Hoya? This is another serious question.

Howcome a guy who is post Hoya, and BEAT Hoya TWICE, cant get on PPV against Margarito but does 1.45 mill against Floyd? You have an explanation for that one?

Are you speaking of Manny's living room cause Floyd is 41-0 and anyone who knows boxing knows who he is. Can't say the same about Manny.
