I've seen enough footage of Greb to wonder how the hell we can rank these lists. He had a horrible stance, how am I supposed to believe he's going to beat most of the best fighters ever.

Then again he won 200 fights and beat Gene Tunney.

My man, you haven't seen any footage of Greb outside of him joking around while sparring.

one of the posters that is guilty of this is el jesus.......mother****er said pancho villa would'nt have beaten jimmy wilde if he was'nt past his prime...how the **** does he know when you cant even find a damn good vid to know which one is which or know the single detail of the bout.....

If this was the case yes, but you can't be having any sort of informed opinion of fighters without actually seeing them in fights and numerous amounts of them. I don't want to hear about what you read in some 1000 year old newspaper.

Just imagine if there was no footage of Louis/Schmeling and Louis won a close decision.........how do you think the papers would report that fight in America during WW2 time?

Exactly, thats the point, the biasness from writers, we see articles on Boxingscene everyday and we complain how bias they are, journalists just are that way, so reading old newspapers will probably do more harm than good many times.

good thread.....ATG lists hard to compile.........and footage of the day is misleading........it's a very very difficult thing to do.........most ppl just look at exisiting lists and mix it up.....

Who would have won had they fought at their respective bests is anyone's guess. But I do think it would have been a much more closely contested fight had Wilde not been off for 2 years. That should be common sense that I believe you would agree with.
