Almost none of you should have a top 100 ATG list

Unless you are like 90 years old I don't see how any of you could have a credible top 100 ATG fighters list, and the fact that so many of you seem to and try to pin point fighters on them is laughable.

The only way a younger person should or could have 1 of any merit is if maybe you watched, scored, and stringently analyzed 10 more of the most important fights that hundreds maybe over a thousand of the greatest fighters in boxing history have had.

The amount of fight you would have to watch should be at the very least tens of thousands of fights. Some of which are not even the easiest to come by and would take so much time to accurately go through that if you were young when you started you most likely would not be once you went through all of this data and pin pointed on a basis consisting of some recognizable criteria where someone should be exactly on a 100 greatest fighters list and who should be there at all.

I mean I could see Bert Sugar having one because he is a dinosaur and was born probably before boxing was invented so he has seen them all live and too.

Ive been telling people this for a while, told them again last week, but the younguns continue to argue. Watching footage isnt enought to rate either, unless youre old enough you would have no idea about the boxing atmosphere back then nor what was really going on.

Well I'd rather encourage young new fans of the sport to try this out. They would learn about the sport more instead of just being fans of 1 or 2 fighters and not care about anything else regarding boxing, and also think that only todays fighters are good.

Yeah that was in the thread where we talked about JC and Whitaker, so you perhaps inspired this thread to some degree.

I just accept that I will never be able to make one of any value, its too many fights and too many fighter who video footage of is too hard to come by.

I agree. The top whatever lists are mostly bull**** anyway. There's a conflict with different eras and who thinks which era was better among other things.

I don't have one but I don't think that it is that bad to have your own list. I have a personal top 10 but 100 is too long to make. Credibility of the list will most likely be off but if you feel like making one, why not. It is healthy to read/watch old boxers, or just plain out enjoying this sport.

Only one member should be allowed to have a 100 Top ATG.

It's the old wet fart jrosales13 who brags about knowing it all in the sport of boxing.
