Just because you lose fights doesn't mean that doesn't make you worthy of the HOF. Just like getting in simply isn't based off of skill, look at Gatti. Nothing much to speak of on his resume but he fought his ASS off, gave us great fights and should be respected as much for his heart as Mayweather is for his skills. Same with Cotto, he not only has beaten good opposition, but people say Paulie, Quintana and Torres wins don't mean anything because others beat them.

Well Cotto beat them all FIRST, just like Mayweather clamors on how he laid the blueprint to beat Hatton, so did Cotto for 3 fighters. He also never ducked anyone whoever Arum put in front of him he fought. He gets in a fight which very well may be tainted, then gives Pacman the hardest fight he's had in 2 or 3 years and then becomes a 3 time division champ. I think he should be in the HoF and his career is still going. If he were to beat Margarito in a rematch I'm sure that would solidify his standing.

Respectfully that is a general statement with nothing to back it up. Different voters different eras. I'm not saying miguel would get no votes or never get in. If he retired today his best wins are: mosley, zab and paulie malignaggi. I just can't see serious boxing writers voting yes.

That said, if he can get some quality wins at 154 he can strengthen his resume.

I think Miguel has a very good chance to get in. He has many quality foes and he's taken alot of zeroes.

Judah, Mosley, Torres, Malignaggi, Clottey, Corley, Ukral, and Foreman.

Everyone is NOW discrediting Foreman, like natural born haters...everyone said Cotto would lose...the media picked Foreman, most fans did and even Vegas I believe had this a pick 'em fight and Cotto broke him down and outclassed him from the opening bell.

To make sure there are no questions, I believe Cotto must avenge any of his two losses and pick up 1-2 quality wins at Super WW and he's in.

He should ease into taking 1 or 2 competitive fights he can win but challenge him, to get used to Steward's training, and confirm his confidence, then go after a couple big dogs, win, and call it a career, gong out a champ. A career to be proud of. Then on to the hall of fame.

Lets not forget, Cotto has been through the ringer lately, and he should be careful in his climb back up the latter. Don't just throw the guy to the wolves, but don't pamper him either. Give him some good fights that can trouble him, but has a good chance at winning, but could lose. His mental conditioning is just as important as his physical conditioning.

Let him work his way back up properly.

Precisely. Cotto's a definite Hall of Famer. He had huge stones, fought everyone (except Mayweather...damn I wish that had happened) and beat most of them. Filled up MSG almost every year for Puerto Rican Day parade, huge box office attraction...I fail to see how he's not.

                Juan Manuel Marquez says high.

Cotto got battered from pillar to post by Pacquiao and was miles ahead on the scorecards(Near shut out) before the ref stepped in. Pacquiao found that fight about as 'hard' as falling asleep.

Marquez performed better than Cotto, obviously. But Cotto looked GREAT until the first knockdown. That shook him up, then the second one scared him bad. But before then, he was almost as fast, stronger and timing Pacquiao pretty well. Rewatch the fight, man.

Tell you what..you want to question his resume? when you compare his to your boy Floyd's it's not even close..Cotto has one of the best if not the best resume in the game of boxing today. Mayweather is undeafted I give you that, but if Cotto would have took the same whack ass route that Mayweather took. He probably would be undefeated too. Cotto fought everyone that he has had to with no restrictions, he bent down to Manny's demands and would do the same if he fought Floyd and at the end of the fight would not complain. I do believe he needs a couple more quality wins but all in all he is a HOF fighter. He has had a huge following from his arrival in the sport and that goes along way to making him a HOF fighter

That's weird, I've never heard anyone question Cotto's resume. He fought everyone in front of him.
