IMO he needs more quality wins on his resume before he is a HOF. Other than Shane he hasn't beaten any HOF'ers.

malignaggi, torres?? come on man...where are my neutral rican brothers?? he hasnt beat margarito yet...and won a 7-5 decision over mosley, and barely got past clottey.

out of all the fighters you named i can only say mosley is a hall of famer.
i actually take offense to the "where are my neutral rican brothers" bit, homes.

      dude - when you're a 3 division champ who's beaten those names - you're a HOFer.

i recommend you take a look at the HOF inductees, there are a plethora of boxers there whose resume's are dwarfed when compared to cotto's.

i may do it for you.

Love him or hate him for whatever reason, Cotto will be a HOF. Is it gonna happen as soon as he retires? More than likely not, but he'll be in there eventually.

Anyone who thinks otherwise either hates on Cotto or hasn't seen the stock of fighters who made the HOF in relation to saying Cotto hasn't fought anyone (which in itself is laughable).

Cotto is a very good fighter but I dont think he has done enough to get in the HOF.

yeah he'll get in. He's got 4 chips in 3 weight classes, got some good names on his resume too(win or loss)

you've boarded onto one fight, your argument is his title situation?

same shiz all over these boards, opinions and no room for debate with intellectual peers.

Some people just can't be objective about quality opponents. I mean The 3 best wins on Cotto's resume are: Shane, Zab Judah, Paulie Malignaggi.

That is not HOF caliber. So what if he has won 4 titles. The weight class argument that holds for older fighters doesn't carry as much weight today because there are so many titles. Also, cotto was the wbo ww champ. The WBO belt is garbage! Look, cotto is a very good fighter but as of today he can't possibly be a HOF.
