look Emmanuel Steward once said that Roy Jones was born in an era where there were no other great fighters at his weight, it's not his fault that he was to good for everybody out there. U guys crack me up when you say he cherry picked his fighters but ask yourself who else was out there back in the 90's. He beat Hopkins, Toney, Griffin, Tarver, Harding, Harmon, etc. One thing that can not be denied is that Roy Jones seemed to be able to do things that most other fighters could not. If Roy was in his prime now he have the super six fighters to choose from, Bute, Dawson, and Pascal. But guess what in 5-7 years we'd say he fought a bunch of nobodys

Come on which Middleweight has gone up and beaten a heavyweight champion.

Beat Telesco with a fractured wrist, Hopkins with a broken right hand and other fights with injuries I can't remember.
He was so ahteltic he played a basketball match then fought later on
They don't get it, it's pointless they'd rather pretend the man did his best to avoid calling Calzaghe in his prime when Frank Warren already said the man had to be begged to fight Jeff Lacy.

When people look back they will realise that losing 25 pounds of muscle pretty much finished his career.

No way Calzaghe even comes close to winning a round against Jones.
I agree. But just think. He was like 45-1 with 37 KO's or something like that and avenged his only loss to Montell Griffin via 1st round KO in the rematch...

Had he retired in 2003. He could have been Top 10 ATG

LOL, I'm know you are not talking about Roy Jones's resume of Who's Who. Them European titles are held by the most worthless champions lol. Ricky Hatton came to American and got a gift against Luis Collazo, Calzaghe went the distance with a shot Roy Jones mind you he got dropped, Calzaghe even got dropped by Hopkins. GTFO!!! Good Laugh!!

The fight game is a hard profession to walk away from. Ur only on the center stage 3-4 times a year once your a champion unlike other sports where you have a complete season and you look forward to getting that break. In boxing they train to 8-10 weeks fight and most get overweight and out of shape.

Shall I bring up the policemen and the tough guys he ducked?

Calzaghe beat the sht out of jones, calzaghe was shot as well remember? roy got in one lucky punched and then got beaten for the rest of the round.

You americans are funny with your overhyping of roy jones, truth hurts I guess. Calzaghe won easily 11 rounds vs roy jones, 12 if he didnt get dropped as he made him his ***** for the rest of the round.

I know calzaghe didnt fight top guys in his prime because he couldnt get the big fights, not his fault people like hopkins pulled out of fights against him in 02

I wish Roy had went to Europe to destroy their weak ass champions, I mean they get hard on about who Roy Jones didn't fight but yet they pretend Markus Beyers, and Mario Veit we worthy competition for Roy Jones.

LOL Calzaghe is the best example of a duck, picking on old fighters past their prime, Calzaghe was not shot, dont pretend that he had a career fighting the best of the best he didn't fight hardly anybody worth mentioning besides jeff lacy and kessler. He would have got smoke attempting to move to heavyweight to fight Chris Byrd yes I said it, Byrd and Ruiz would have starched Calzaghe's punk ass worse than that weak ass ******* so move on with your worthless as comebacks. Ur fighters over there suck and you know it, they have no rhythm and they do nothing but fight over the hill fighters so the truth hurts I know.

I don't give a damn about a police officer or taxi cab driver you sit here and bad mouth a fighter like you followed the mans career he did a great job with no promoter and accomplished alot over here in the states, when you bring my country in it and you try and put down a legend ur asking for it. I respect every fighter I just appreciate it when a fighter can move up multiple weight classes and continue to do more for his legacy. Moving up in weight in no easy task and Roy Jones, Mayweather, Delahoya, are all American fighters that moved up held lineal titles and are not over hyped at all
