i truly beleive in my heart, that at times, roy was invincible.. ive been there myself. sometimes, when you're fighting, you feel like a god and nothing can hurt you. your intuition tells you everything your opponent is going to do, or if they are just going to cower under your greatness. roys offense was very very good, and at times he couldnt be hurt. so he could beat anyone on his best day, if you ask me.

as long as its a fair fight in the ring

It's a real shame he didnt retire on top. Could've been a Top 10 ATG.
Exactly what i am thinking too. good post. greened you.

Thanks man. I knew it wasnt the only one who felt like that...

If Roy retired after the 1st Tarver fight or the Ruiz fight. He could have gone down as one of the true greats but it's very hard for boxers to quit sometimes. When you've been doing something your whole life it's very hard to quit I guess.

No one beats a prime Roy Jones, Jones had a sick sense of ring awarness mixed in with God like speed and reflexes, even now in his 40's he still has good speed but his reflexes, chin, and body has aged. For some reason when I think of Roy Jones I always thought of Allen Iverson both of them excelled in a variety of sports.

Nobody ever saw a prime calzaghe but imagine a calzaghe with a bit of power before he broke his hands and couldnt spar properly.

I see it being a close fight and no way does roy jones knock calzaghe out, he will prob win a decision like he did against hopkins but it wouldnt shock me if joe pulled off a decision win

is that why he cherry picked fighters like bin men and police officers while ducking the best guys?

I hate it when people overate fighters, especially american fans over hyping american fighters

We think his losses hurt his ATG status but don't forget Ali lost to Spinks, Berbick and Holmes past his prime.
Robinson had many losses past his prime
When people look back they will realise that losing 25 pounds of muscle pretty much finished his career.

No way Calzaghe even comes close to winning a round against Jones.

Jones was green himself at the time and he destroyed Toney who was considered untouchable at the time.
He's beaten many quality opponents Reggie Johnson, Mike Mccallum, Vinny Pazienza, Montel Griffin, Virgill Hill.
Come on which Middleweight has gone up and beaten a heavyweight champion.

Beat Telesco with a fractured wrist, Hopkins with a broken right hand and other fights with injuries I can't remember.
He was so ahteltic he played a basketball match then fought later on
