if Manny really wanted to pressure Floyd into the fight he would do OSTs till the fight and take 40% of the purse...

And he payed for it and just as a reminder it was Golden Boy who set up the penalty ammount for Marquez when Floyd didn't make weight of 600,000$ per pound. You think thats the standard weight penalty for all fights held in Nevada or something LOL?Comment

10 million weight penalty for Floyd is within the rules. NSAC weight penalty is 25 % of the purse. Floyds purse is 40 mil, so 25% of that is 10 mil.
1. An unarmed combatant who fails to make the weight agreed upon in his bout agreement forfeits: (a) Twenty-five percent of his purse if no lesser amount is set by the Commission’s representative; or
(b) A lesser amount set by the Executive Director and approved by the Commission,
****unless the weight difference is 1 pound or less.
2. A forfeit must be divided equally between the other unarmed combatant and the Commission.
3. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 3 of NAC 467.476 and subsection 2 of NAC 467.7956, if, during the 1 hour following the time of weighing in, an unarmed combatant is able to make the weight or weighs 1 pound or less outside the agreed limits, no forfeit may be imposed or fine assessed upon him.Comment

Why not just fight floyd for free while he's at it? And seriously why does it have to be manny to have to make all the sacrifices. I know you are a Floyd fan and you can't help but back up your man but don't you think "Both" fighters need to make some sacrifices here and not just Manny?Comment

Since when is a "catchweight" standard for the NSAC? That's what Mayweather-Marquez was. The NSAC has nothing in the rulebook to enforce that.
But I'm glad we can agree that fighters creating their own weight penalties is more uncommon than OSTs. And also doesn't follow commission rules.Comment

Ugh the welter weight division is a fight that takes place anywhere between 147 and 141 pounds so whats the problem? There is no NSAC rule anywhere that states that a welterweight fight "has" to happen with maximum weight limit of 147 pounds. So what exactly are you crying about?Since when is a "catchweight" standard for the NSAC? That's what Mayweather-Marquez was. The NSAC has nothing in the rulebook to enforce that. They wouldn't have penalized Floyd because it was a welter fight.
