In reality, there's no real public pressue for either of these guys to take this fight. This situation has brought about so much emotion on both sides that there are very few if anyone who's genuinely neutral on the debate. Therefore, Mayweather could come out and flat out say, "I'm scared of this Philipino buzzsaw" and his backers would find a way to validate it as a legitimate reason not to take the fight. Likewise, Pac would come out and say "Mayweather is a style that I've had difficulties with in the pastm, and he's bigger, faster, and better than all of those guys I've had trouble with. Therefore, I don't want to fight him." And his backers would sear on a stack of Bibles that Pac is using reverse psychology. So in the end, regardless of what happens, those that think its Mayweather's fault the fight isn't happening will continue to blame him. And those who think that its Pac's fault will continue to blame him. Both guys know this. Therefore, to say one is putting pressure on the other to make the fight is ridiculous because in the end, its not gonna matter.

But "according to the NSAC rules", a fighter not making weight is required to forfeit 25% of his purse to his opponent. Therefore, "according to the NSAC rules", Mayweather should only have to pay Pac $10M of his $40M guarantee regardless of whether he comes in 1lb over weight, or 100lbs overweight, "according to the NSAC rules."

1. An unarmed combatant who fails to make the weight agreed upon in his bout agreement forfeits:

(a) Twenty-five percent of his purse if no lesser amount is set by the Commission’s representative; or

(b) A lesser amount set by the Executive Director and approved by the Commission,

Ê unless the weight difference is 1 pound or less.

2. A forfeit must be divided equally between the other unarmed combatant and the Commission.

3. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 3 of NAC 467.476 and subsection 2 of NAC 467.7956, if, during the 1 hour following the time of weighing in, an unarmed combatant is able to make the weight or weighs 1 pound or less outside the agreed limits, no forfeit may be imposed or fine assessed upon him.

i stongly disagree.........random OST is no big deal at all...........no matter how much Pac and his army of worshippers want to whine and ***** about it............it isn't something that should hold up a fight because of one fighters lame excuses..........

and from a business persepctive Floyd would have to be ****** to give Pac 50%......it would be very generous.......55%/45% is fair IMO.......and team Pac realises this.....hence they are on the front foot and attacking through the media....essentially saying yes to a deal they (and the worshippers) said was unacceptable in March..........ofcourse the American media and boxing establishment cannot handle a loud mouthed black kid in charge of his own destiny......so they overlook the hypocrisy of team Pacquaio.......

First of all, Floyd doesn't have to pay a penny to Manny if he makes weight, and if he didn't make weight and their was no agreement that Manny would probably just pull out of the fight because he does't need to be fighting guys that can't make weight. second, 8 oz reyes are by far the best glove for boxing fans's they cut the most, hurt the most, guys back in the day would laugh at some of the gloves floyd has used in the past. all of the demands make it a better fight for the fans, we all want to see these guys with 8 oz (because they can, if 6 oz were legal i would want to see that), and we all want to see 2 guys in the ring that had to both weigh in at 147 and under.

Aside from the $10 mil per pound weight penalty, how are those not fair? You want to see Floyd run around a bigger ring? And to top it off, bigger gloves so punches don't hit as hard? The weight penalty isn't even a problem since FLoyd has no problems making weight. Floyd is a grown ass man, he has no problems fighting with 8 oz gloves and a regular sized ring. How is that not fair to Floyd?
