7 division titles can easily be achieved by another fighter in a few years/decades. With so many belts around, it should be broken. It's the lineal titles that count. That is what's hard to beat.

I agree...... I don't consider the WBO a major belt. Lots of people do....so I just go with the flow.

But when Benitez, Hearns, and Arguello came in 3 titles was no longer a big deal because there were juniors and supers plus there were the WBC and the WBA.

When Pac came in, things got even easier because there was the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO.

In the future, it is certain that there will be more opportunities to win titles making it easier for fighter decades from now to break Manny's 7 title record.

Manny's focus should therefore be to focus on winning an 8th, and if possible, a 9th title, in order to make himself more untouchable and immortal.

An 8th title will add more to Pac's legacy than would a victory over Floyd. Floyd, really, is just another opponent. Clottey was a waste of time for Pacquiao. He should have fought Foreman or Cintron.
I seem to recall that during the Barney Ross, Tony Canzoneri, Jackie "Kid" Berg era there were some lighter weight Junior titles. I KNOW that Kid Berg was the Junior Welterweight Champion, I remember reading that he beat the previous champion, Mushy Callaghan.

I think Kid Chocolate alo held some Junior title, not certain, but think so.

I care more about level of opposition, then belts won.

                      why?

This is a scenerio that I see happening, thus it is a possibility.

Pac rematches Cotto at 154 for the 154 title, and wins.

Mayweather beats Sergio at 160 and wins that 160 title.

Pac fights Mayweather for his 160 title and wins it.

It sounds like a lot but it is possible.
