Im not arguing for Anarchy.. Im saying what is right.. its againts the constitution and everyones American right (legal or illegal) to not be discriminated againts by this law..

This Law affects me in no way.. Im Puertorican and we are Part of the US which automatically makes us citizens.. but do you think that if im standing out on a corner waiting for a job (like alot of illegal immigrants have to do to feel their families) and someone came up to me and asked me for proof of citizenship, that isn't profiling to you? Just cause im standing on a corner looking for work means im illegal..

Sorry to tell you this but most illegal immigrants work harder in 1 week than we do in a lifetime.. and for what ? **** money... just so they can live much better than they would where they came from.. who are we to stop them from wanting a better life?..

Immagrants are the backbone of America.. like it or not....

        between hispanics and white americans.
I have nothing against legal immigrants, I welcome them with open arms. My situation is to move the military bases to the borders and have 24/7 surveillance by the army. It would be some good practice for the desert overseas. If you're here illegally your breaking the law that's it no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Nobody else gets passes. not Jamaicans, Haitians, Africans, Chinese nobody else gets over so stop the crying.

Work harder than you, maybe but my parents came here legally from Guyana in south America. Waited years for visas, waited years later for citizenship, and went through all the proper channels to enter this country. Illegal immigration in my opinion is cheating everybody who does things the right way. Everybody should have the same opportunities no favoritism.

The constitution guarantees rights for Citizens and legal residents. Illegals have no protection under our laws.

Cotto, the former World Boxing Organization welterweight champion, was outspoken Tuesday against Arizona's law, which makes it a crime to not carry immigration documents, while allowing police to question anyone suspected of being in the country illegally.

"You can't treat immigrants, people who move the economy of this country, like that," Cotto said. "They are human beings. They are here legal, but you can't treat them the way people from Arizona want to treat them."

Cotto, who hails from Puerto Rico, was at Modell's in Times Square to promote his new "I Fight for the Flag" shirt as part of Everlast's "What Do You Fight For?" campaign.

Arizona's new immigration law has been the subject of much discussion in the past month with regard to human rights. Numerous groups have protested the law, saying it can lead to racial profiling and poor treatment of **********. President Barack ***** is opposed to the law, too.

The World Boxing Council announced that it will not schedule bouts for any Mexican fighters in Arizona, calling the law "shameful, inhumane and discriminatory."

"(The law's) going to be trouble," Cotto said when asked about the law possibly presenting problems with boxers not fighting in Arizona. "People get mad to get there because people from there, the cops, the government from there, aren't going to treat them like they need to be treated."

Cotto will fight undefeated World Boxing Association junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman on Saturday night in the first fight at the new Yankee Stadium. Cotto, 29, said it will be an honor to be at the Stadium and be a part of its history.

"When I talk about my flag, I'm proud of my people from Puerto Rico," Cotto said. "I feel pretty proud to be Puerto Rican and for me to represent them for example next Saturday and make them feel proud and happy when I get the victory over Yuri Foreman."
thats fine, for him.... i dont care what he's for or against...

i dont like the bill, but the state has the right to enforce it how the deem fit. if the citizens of arizona oppose the bill, they will vote out the people who decided it was appropriate. if the citizens of AZ agree with the bill they will support the "leaders" who brought it to law...

its not the feds role to tell states what they can and cannot do. if people like it, they'll move there and if they dont they'll move elsewhere.... you get the deal...

I love the people who are like this is racial profiling and is illegal. Uhh..Racial profiling isnt illegal. Its very common, used all the time and theres nothing illegal about it. Read a book please.

Also please read what European immigrants went through. learn the history of Ellis Island etc...It has never been easy to be an immigrant in the U.S. Please read what French-Americans went through even right after the revolutionary war...Or what Japanese Americans went through during WWII, but no, latino's should have it easy? If you dont think undocumented immigration is a problem, I cant help you. If you think all of these people are going to Arizona in search of "a good job" yorue crazy. Most and I mean most are bringing in drugs, weapons, and stuff like that. The federal government wont do anything about it, so Arizona passes a law that gives them the right to do what they already have the right to do. When you get pulled over, whats the first thing a cop asks you? License and registration and proof of insurance?

Also please read Terry v. Ohio (cop noticed 2 kids acting fishy around a store, stopped them, frisked them, found guns etc...supreme court upheld the stop), cops have the right to stop and detain you and ask for id, frisk you, and hold you for 15 minutes all by just having a hunch. All the Arizona law really says is that cops now DO this based on a hunch that one is an illegal. Sorry theres nothing unconstitutional with the Arizona law, its pretty much already the law, all it does is clarify their stance with the goal being of causing controversy and hoping that the federal government steps up on the illegal immigration problem.

Margarito must have beat Cotto retared. Seriously the dude needs to shutup. He has no clue what hes talking about, hes a washed up bum. He never even was that good, he was always overhyped. Foreman is going to wax this pathetic whiner.

yes but surely you can't argue that the AZ law is a good way of combating illegal immigrants speaking from a humanitarian point of view.

i don't think anyone arguing that illegal immigrants should be allowed but the way the law has been put in place.

Really, please look up the 14th ********* Equal Protection Clause. Look up the definition of strict scrutiny. Read Korematsu where the supreme court ruled that it was CONSTITUTIONAL to detain Japanese Americans based solely on them being japanese. Strict Scrutiny- so long as a law is NARROWLY TAILORED to a COMPELLING GOVERNMENT NEED you can discriminate based on race, class, gender, creed, religion etc...Stopping people suspected of a crime is narrowly tailored, limiting illegal immigration which brings crimes and economic hardships is a compelling need. People really need to read books before they try to talk.
