For 2006, Yes pacquiao was fighter of the year, but much wasn’t expected of him. Afterall, he was avenging a loss against a faded Morales. The allure of Morales was still there despite getting his butt handed to him by raheem. People thought he would give it to pacquiao again just like he did after losing to MAB. U say it is ******ed to give Floyd that year but who else in recent memory has beat the fomer undisputed champ and linear champ in consecutive fights. Without bias and simply off accomplishments….that is Floyd’s year hands down. Oscar realized that, why did you think he gave Floyd a shot!
You cant give Floyd 2006, the fact that he fought Judah before Baldomir, and for the belt was already a big mismanage of his career by his handlers. Fighting Baldomir was great but considering that Margarito (who was percieved to be the best next to Floyd in WW) was challenging
him already tells you he didnt fight the best. You can say that it was because of Arum that the fight didnt push through but Pac was involved in a major lawsuit against Golden Boy but he still found a way to fight JMM and MAB in a rematch. Everything can be done through negotiations if the fighters really want to fight.

BWAA awards are votes from different boxing scribes in the country so you cannot take that award for granted. Floyd won in 2007, you sayin' that award is a farce, cmon??

And before you criticize Pac for fighting Morales, you have to remember that a) Pac lost the first fight, so he needed a rematch, b) Morales was still a heavy favorite going to that fight, and c) Morales lost was more of a style mismatch against Raheem. You also have to add that Morales was fighting at LW, which is not his best weight at that time. He looked bloated and out of shape.

p4p list is the same as FOTD both tools created by the BWAA. If your going to accept one you have to accept the other. I'm cool with Manny winning but I still don't think he deserved it over PBF.

P4P is mythical mate. So you saying BWAA has the same criteria as The Ring? If yes then I stand corrected but do you have something to prove this?

I don't know how the BWAA voted for FOTD but for me and perhaps the others know why Manny is FOTD.

You don't see anyone accusing Floyd of PEDs, that's how good Pacquiao has been.

Pac went from being ko'd twice in 3 rounds, losing to Morales to being a 7 division champ according to his fans. All I remember is this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0spkKaucBus Pac ko'd

                2000 -- Felix Trinidad
                2001 -- Bernard Hopkins
                2002 -- Vernon Forrest
                2003 -- James Toney
                2004 -- Glen Johnson
                2005 -- Ricky Hatton
Pacquiao should have won the award in 2003. Pacquiao's win over MAB (who was regarded as a top 5 or 3 p4p fighter at the time) is definitely a lot better than Toney's wins against Jirov and a shot Holyfield.

See, the problem is that some of these new boxing fans don't know what a real award/prize is vs a fake one.

That's why they bombarded Kevin Iole and the Yahoo! staff with racist insults when Yahoo! voted PBF as #1 P4P. They don't understand that Ring, Yahoo!, etc are all just compilations of opinion.

Thank you, Boxing Tech, for having some logic.
