1 out of 2 MAB fights, MAB was shot.

    Oscar was shot and drained.

He arguably lost both JMM fights.

    Cmon man.

If you wanna go that route.

Oscar was also shot and Floyd could only muster an SD.

Marquez went 2 weightclasses up and Floyd still cheated on the scales.

All other fighters Floyd fought whether prime or not will be forgotten because they are bums and are not HOFs. When you look at a fighter's record from 50 years ago....you look for the HOF they beat.......not unknown bums.

2001: Corrales was a great win, rated higher in the division and P4P by Ring at the time, and Hernandez and Chavez were both legit contenders, ending a memorable 130 reign which rates with some of the best ever at the weight; Pac had Ledwaba, who was in the hunt as far as being the best Jr. Feather at the time; Sanchez went to a technical draw Sanchez basically fouled his way to. Great year for both but Floyd had three good wins to Manny's one. Edge = PBF

2002: Pac beats a faded former titlist in Julio; Mayweather gets the benefit of the doubt against Castillo but mans up and takes the rematch, winning with a late pull away in another good fight spending the year as Lightweightchamp. Edge = PBF

2003: Floyd fights Sosa in a typical, ho-hum type fight after two hard ones; follows with N'Dou, a Jr. Lightweight who was rated tenth at 130 by Ring at the time in another ho-hum outing; Manny routs a future HOFer in Barrera for the Feather crown. Edge = Pac

2004: Pac draws with a future HOFer in Marquez, Floyd fights once against Corley and has a fun win. the fact PAC dropped JMM 3 times in the 1st rd and got a draw is a detraction for me. I understand the point about him being a future HOFer, but I can’t give him the edge in 04 for essentially losing a fight to JMM. Edge = Floyd

2005: Floyd fights three guys in Bruseles, Gatti, and Mitchell; Manny moves to 130, loses a close one to a Morales coming off a great year where he beat Chavez, hernandez, and Barrera. gatti was another title in another division. (Also coupled with the fact hatton defeated tzyu and was unwilling to fight Floyd at the time and cotto wasn’t ready as well.) pacquiao losing to Morales just doesn’t trump Floyd wining against gatti and receiving another belt in another division. Edge = Floyd

2006: Floyd fights Judah off a loss to Baldo and then Baldo for the Welter crown; Pac fights Morales off a loss to Raheem, Larios off a cut loss to Vasquez, and then Morales again. in my eyes beating the former undisputed champ of WW and the lineal champ of WW trumps beating a larios after defeat and an washed up Morales after defeat to raheem. I just don’t see how anyone can give that edge to Pac…that’s crazy to me! Edge = Floyd

2007: Pac wastes time with a fringe Feather contender in Solis and an unneccesary Barrera rematch; Floyd takes on Oscar for a belt at 54 and then knocks out the Jr. Welter champ in hatton. Edge = Floyd

2008: Floyd is off; Pac beats Marquez for the 130 crown in another great, close fight and probably gets too much love for beating Diaz at 135 and an Oscar whose just done. edge Pac.

2009: Floyd comes back and beats a Marquez, Pac beats Hatton and then cotto and becomes a lineal champ I 4 divisons and supposedly his 7th title in 7 weight classes. edge Pac

BY MY COUNT, THAT 3 YS TO 7, EDGE MAYWEATHER!!!! So how did the BWAA have Manny has the fighter of the decade?
Trust me I'm still trying to figure that out it baffles meto this day; its like Steve Nash having more MVP awards than Kobe. But we all know who's better.

      • u wont get th FOTY reward if ur ducking and cherry picking oponents in the eyes of boxing fans

ur floyd have alot to prove b4 he can get that reward

LOL his only 41 fights at age 33 explains how protective he is with his 0 record lol

        FOTY in my opinion
= deserves to a boxer who keeps fighting the best out there without any whines
= has fought more challenging fights for the past 10 years(didnt retire and hide on his shell to keep his 0)
= a fighter who fought oponents that people say gonna whoop his arse but he surprises them.

i dont see any credibility in floyd resume that make him deserve that reward...

all i can see in his past 10years resume is

        1.ducking and cherrypicking
        2.fighting overhyped opponents(hatton)
        3.taking advantage over his oponents
        4.retireded i mean retired(to keep his 0?)
5.fighting smaller guys or old guys

for u to think he deserves that reward more than pac is
either u are playing ****** or ur just plain ******... which one?

U betta go watch some tape of Genaro!! and Corrales would have Koed both of them.
His point clearly went over your head...

If they would have won or lost is irrelevent...And should not be used to try and prove a point.

Who "won" that year in your eyes?

            I go like this:

            2000- Floyd
            2001- Floyd
            2002- Floyd

            2003- Pac
            2004- Floyd
            2005- Floyd
            2006- Floyd
            2007- Floyd

            2008- Pac
            2009-Pac

2000: Floyd beat Emmanuel Augutsus. Pac beat some dude named Kon-Chae and in the Hussein fight was almost KO'd by a jab.

2001: Pac had 4 scraps was very active. However his best win was against Ledwaba. Floyd beat P4Pounder Diego Corralles and Jesus Chavez.

2002: Floyd beat Castillo twice. Pac beat Jorge Eliecer Julio and Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym.

2003: You have to give to Pac for the MAB win.

In 2004: Floyd beat Chop Chop. Pac had a draw with JMM and beat 3K.

2005: I gave 05 to Floyd because Manny lost a fight, to a past it Morales nontheless.

2006: Floyd beat Judah and Baldomir 2 out of 3 of the Top WW's and won the 147 Lineal Title. In that same year Pac beat a shot Morales twice and beat Oscar Larios.

2007: Floyd beat Oscar and Hatton. Pac beat a shot MAB and Solis.

            2008: Floyd was retired.

2009: Floyd beat JMM in a tune up. Pac had Cotto. He gett that year.

            Year by year its interesting.
I was about to give green and then this?

            Forget about it. LOL

Conclusion: it's too close to call, each have strong points and weak points.
              Very good, and interesting post!

It is too close to call, I can't understand for the life of me why certain fans (on both sides) just can't see, or accept this.

Two great fighters of this decade. Period.

              • Why argue

Pac is FOTD because majority of the posters here are keep on saying Pac is fighter and not a boxer

Just make an award for PBF to make him happy

BOTD !!! Boxer of the decade

                • i don't remember pac fake retiring to avoid big threats. if only the world was full of baldomir's we would get to see mayweather's genius uninterrupted all decade long.

yes....thats exactly why every boxing publication awarded pacquiao with the fighter of the year award in 2006 instead of floyd

Bro...let these crybabies have their little fun. I spotted that as well as the Fact that Manny won FOTY three times compared to Floyd only winning it once during that 10 year time frame. These Floyd fans are a joke.......smh
