I know exactly what you said man, I read your comment. You described Mayweather's elusivness in a negative way. The term that you used was "running", correct? Regardless, your explanation for Mayuweather's opponents low work-rate is insufficient. You brought up Mosley, b ut Mayweather sto od right in front of Mosley for basically the entire fight. The Bi ased HBO commentators even made note of this. Mosley didn't have a low work-rate because Mayweather ran, he had a low work-rate because of Mayweather's accurate counter-punching.This is nothing but anti-Mayweather spin. Boxing is a business and politics play a huge role on what fights do and don't get made. Why is it always the most ignorasnt who talk the loudest?
Cotto had his chance, but didn't think that he was ready. Margarito is owned by Arum, and Arum tried to strongarm Mayweather. Mayweather wanted $8 million to fight Margarito, a guarantee of $10m to fight Cotto or Hatton, and $20m to fight Oscar. Arum would only gurantee $8m for Margarito and $7m for Cotto/Hatton. He didn't even want to pursue the Mayweather-De La Hoaya fight. Anyone faulting Mayweather for his decision to buy himself out of his contract with Arum to go o n and do his own thing is a selfish fan who doesn't appreciate the business side of the sport.
