dirty ****ing benn kept punching gman in the back of the head throughout that fight & the crooked ass ref did nothing.

ricky hatton does that a lot too. is that a brit thing?
Now if anyone should have brought this up, it should have been me. Reason I didn't, well I feel Benn didn't really ruin G-Man.

Yeah it was a sad thing that happened after the fight, but the fight should have been stopped like two times.

    That whole fight was bull****.

Benn and Ubanks were some of my favorite fighters from across the pound at that time too.

So far most of of the obvious ones like Taylor-JCC and Trinidad-Reid have been mentioned.

One I have not seen listed yet is Vassily Jirov ruining Joe Mesi.

Someone earlier said the Toney ruined Jirov but that's absolute horse****, it was a tough fight and Jirov lost but he still have more then enough left to ruin Mesi's career in his very first fight at Heavyweight.

Has anyone seen Roy Jones Jr vs Eric Harding? If you havent then you should because at the time Roy was unstoppable and Harding gave him proberbly the toughest fight in his prime. Aside from Montell Griffin who beat him by DQ.

Harding fought aswell as anyone iv'e seen fight Jones in his prime, But he tore his bicep in the early rounds and Roy started to figure him out and he had to retire after the 10th. I had it 96-94 Jones after 10...

Before that fight Harding had beaten Antonio Tarver (Who was undefeated at the time) breaking his jaw in the process. Harding fought Jones really well but came up short then fought Tarver in a rematch and lost by TKO in 5 despite being ahead on the cards...

After that he really had nothing to do in his career. So I would say it ruined him. But it was a combination of both Jones and Tarver

Harding was a tuff fighter in his day. Gave Tarver all hell also...Then Tarver almost killed him in the rematch...

Like I said. Jones and Tarver were #1 and #2 and Harding fought really well against both of them. When he lost there was nothing much else for him to do, He seemed to lose his motivation. Then Tarver had the chance to re-build while RJJ got older and older. Tarver was supposed to beat Harding...

Makes me wonder. If only Tarver had beaten Harding in the first fight...

the refereeing in that fight was a disgrace. those punches to the back of the head look to me what caused the tragedy. during the fight, benn would rabbit punch gman & gman would clearly wince in pain & he would start blinking several times & started clutching the back of his head.

sad. gerald is one of my favorite fighters. his straight right hand was like a ****ng poisonous spear.

Most of the time this is overblown. Fighters sometimes are never the same, but not completely "ruined" as they are still very good fighters. The loss to Margarito seemed to take something out of Cotto mentally, as well as adding to the physical damage in a series of tough bouts, but it's not like Cotto suddenly ******. He was still a top welterweight. Taylor never recovered 100% from the Chavez fight, but scored better victories after Chavez than Vargas after Trinidad and Cotto so far post-Margarito.

Duran took a lot out of Moore. Moore did score a win afterwards over Benitez, but Benitez himself was declined and happened to break his ankle on a KD. Reid did nothing of note post-Trinidad.

If Toney-Jirov doesn't count because Jirov beat Mesi afterwards, why would Chavez-Taylor count when Taylor beat better fighters post-Chavez than Mesi?
