Gatti had been in wars throughout his career, He had won 5 straight going into the Mayweather fight and beat Gianluca Branco, Leonard Dorin and James Leija. All creditable fighters. Don't get me wrong Gatti was not at his best when he fought Floyd but it wasnt like he was finished either

That fight was the beggining of the end for him...

Wasn't that after like his second return to the ring after being retired? He did take a beating though.

I hate that the Norris/Tito fight never happend.

            You just reminded me J...

            Tito-Reid.

Reid had no reason to be in the ring with Tito that early...Didn't he have like 16 or 17 fights (going off memory, could be wrong about that number)?

Me too, that was the dream fight around 1997 at 154. I thought Tito could stop him. I didn't see Norris chin holding up. I thought Tito would have to come off the canvas to do it and he would get outbox early. But, I was confident that Tito could win. Papa Trinidad on the other hand wasn't as confident.

Yeah, that was a shame about Reid.

I watched that fight about 2-3 days ago, Reid was 14-0 and had only been a pro 3 years. He had skills no doubt but just wasnt mentally ready for a fight like that. You could see it in him...
