Makes me wonder. If only Tarver had beaten Harding in the first fight...
Yeah I don't think tarver would've gave roy a tougher fight than the harding one...Lucky bastard

    Anyway

    Tarver ruined jones
    Barrera ruined hamed
    Hopkins ruined tito
    calzaghe ruined lacy
    and IMO hopkins ruined taylor

Im not sure if Tito ruined Vargas

But it really took away his confidence. Even though he put up good fights against De La Hoya and Mosley in the first fight. Vargas lost some of his mental strength I feel, Because Trinidad really put a beating on him.

Yeah it was a sad thing that happened after the fight, but the fight should have been stopped like two times.

          That whole fight was bull****.

Benn and Ubanks were some of my favorite fighters from across the pound at that time too.
julian jackson ruined g-man more than benn. it was those viscous punches that probably caused his brain injury going into the benn fight. obviously benn made it worse as the fight progressed. g-man would have succumbed to that injury eventually but it sucks he had to lose to a cheater where the ref kept stepping in front of benn every time he was hurt and let him get away with murder.

I think he really could have been a decent Lightweight if not for the brain injury.

Don't get me wrong Tarver was a pretty good fighter not great but very good. Plus when he fought Roy he wanted it so bad, He had to go through alot of people to get to him. And with Tarver going through the hard times with drugs and everything, The Jones fights defined his career. He had to win....

Interesting that you think Bernard ruined Jermain Taylor, No doubt they were tough fights but Jermain wasnt burnt out or anything. Im not taking anything away from Hopkins but when you look at Hopkins MW reign, He didnt have to fight top level/elite opposition all the time. Once Taylor became champion he had to fight Winky Wright and Cory Spinks (Who despite losing to Judah, Is a tough tricky opponent to have to fight. And then Pavlik...

I think Pavlik ruined him to be honest...

lol good one. and this is based on what? a pathetic showing against mayweather? if he couldn't beat isaac hlaatshwayo what makes you think he's gonna dominate anyone? i think david diaz would have been p4p number 1! if it wasn't for the pac beating...

LOL Damn how did I know you were going to be the one to reply to that post?? The dude had brain damage. What do you expect? If that's not ruining a fighter, then I don't know what is. And he barely even lost to Hlatschwayo. That fight could have went either way. Its not like Hlatshwayo was a bum. He did beat Nate Campbell, and Joel Casamayor wanted no part of him.
