The Ali that lost to Holmes still would have beat the **** out of Sosnowski.

Ali fought far worse opponents than Sosnowski for his world title defenses, such as:Yeah but don't compare today's 38 to Ali's 38. The numerous wars, the lackluster preparation (in comparison anyway), no bum tuneups, nearly everyone Ali fought is an ATG by today's standards, the nutrition... You can't really compare. Would someone like Bernard Hopkins be fighting and winning at the level he was fighting a few years ago over 40 years of age, in Ali's era? I don't really think so...

Yeah and a few of those guys landed some nice shots. Even wepner knocked ali down.Comment

No, it makes him an exception.
Let's also not forget that Vitali Klitschko has already a kickbox career behind him.
And let's not forget that Ali's real heavyweight record (both fighters 200+ lbs) is 28-4. Ali plays in a different league than Vitali (40-2) or Wladimir (54-3).Comment

well, Vitali is more well preserved than Ali due to taking less damage in his career(partially due to his easier competition) plus his retirement...but yes, Vitali is actually closer to 39 now, not many fighters are still as dominant as he is at that age, regardless of the lack of competition.
Vitali is one of the best examples of a tall fighter effectively fighting tall, and there are very few if any guys around nowadays which can put on that kind of display like him.Comment

How is Sosnowski better than Wepner? Most of Sosnowski's fights were against Euro bums, and he lost to Zuri Lawrence of all people.Comment
