BoxingScene.com received a call from a furious Lou DiBella, who wanted to respond to an earlier story pertaining to the negotiations to make a featherweight fight between Celestino Caballero and Yuriorkis Gamboa for July 24 on HBO. In an earlier story, Gamboa's promoter Bob Arum claimed Caballero priced himself out, and WBC champion Elio Rojas is now the frontrunner to face Gamboa on that HBO date. [Click Here To Read More]

It seems that Cab is in a position where he has to either accept the short money, give up on the fight happening, or carry on waiting around and calling people out like he's been doing for a year or more now without success.
I think he should take the smaller-than-deserved payday. It sucks that they're trying to screw him over financially, but in the long run it's in his best interests to take a fight on HBO against someone he can beat. Otherwise his career is going to stall.Comment

Cab is really in no position to even worry about that. He just needs fights.
Hes going to end up fighting Rigondeaux for no money at all.
You dont pass up a Gamboa and Lopez fight.Comment

Clegg's right, Caballero needs to KO some little bitches who don't know how to split money properly to teach them a listen about avoiding him...Comment

They let people duck fighters too easily in this sport. HBO and Showtime need to start stepping in and making mandatory so these fighters have no choice but to fight. Make the purse 50/50. Make them fight each other! In Hockey, Football, Basketball, and in most sports they don't get to choose their freaking opponents!Comment

exactly but watch gamboa get a pass from boxing scene this is basically the same situation that happend with juanma with team cab claiming there was a lowball offer given. also juanma has fought better comp the gamboa and brings more of a fanbase and money to the tableComment

Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
Juanma and Gamboa are both overrated severely and fear being exposed by the superior talent in Caba.
Caba needs some ****ing recourse here. He's been blackballed badly for the last few years by coward prospects afraid to get their feet wet.Comment
