Who Wouldve Won: Cotto vs Margarito

I only asked because I was rewatching some of Mosley-Margarito on youtube and alot of the viewers felt that Cotto wouldve beat Margarito's ass if it wernet for the gloves. You say its been done but people's opinion's also change on the matter over time. I know people who 1st thought Margarito was all about the wraps but now they think he's still good and has power even without the wraps. Some think different & so on

Styles make fights. Period.

Margo will always beat Cotto. Folks can hate all they want, cause Margo is not that skilled or whatever...Wraps didn't have Cotto being hit more in that fight than any other.

I thought it took the wraps like several rounds to set in, why did Cotto take like 32 uppercuts in the second round? Several in a row at on point? Broken nose, and most of the swelling came from the second round, funny how folks won't admit that.

Cotto had no power on most of his punches, due to the fact he was in retreat mode the entire fight.

Cotto's defense is ******...When he is fighting a fighter with an uppercut as his favorite punch....

Not to mention. The body work Margo put in. It was brutal.

Without wraps, Margo still beats Cotto.

Im somewhat agree and thats why I would probably still favor Margarito but I also think that its a little too close to call, wouldve went 12, and wouldve been anyone's fight down the stretch

Well, Cotto snapped Margo's head back numerous times but Marg just kept pressuring on as if nothing happened, and Cotto ain't loaded nothing in his gloves. I think it would be too close to call, but Cotto wouldn't have had a facelift if Marg never had Plaster of paris in his hands.

i agree that was ridiculous and i had a few friends who were trying to use that as an excuse who i shut down but lets be real about the plaster incident that did happen its not a crazy assumption to make that margs used plaster against cotto when in his very next fight he attempted to use it and past the state inspection. how could you be so sure that margs didnt use it against cotto and if he did that would obviously have a huge affect on a fight that was as close as that one was.

ChampBoxPr posted a picture of Cotto a week later at the Marc Ecko birthday party (it was some sort of party for Mr. Ekco), and Cotto just has a tiny snip of tape on his eye. Swelling was gone, man didn't even look to have been in a fight.

Margo on the other hand, looked terrible. Stop the bull****!!!!
