Spinks is pretty past it. His fight with Latimore showed that, and now that he's been off for more than a year and having gained a lot of weight in between, I doubt he'll turn the clock back,

Henry and Porter are still prospects. Your original post said now, and frankly, I don't see them getting title shots any time soon. I didn't include Lara in this group as he may be fighting for a title soon.

Neither Collazo nor Cotto has faced quality opposition at the weight. It remains to be seen if they can do well at 154, especially Cotto.

Is Mora now at 154? Did he come in over 160 for his last fight? What about Kirkland, how much did he put on, and will he be able to make the weight comfortably?

and probably a lot more that I can't think of off the top of my head that could make 154, but if you take out Foreman and match any of those fighters up in any way shape or form, you got the potential for a highlight reel KO, fight of the year candidate, or BOTH!!!

I think 140 may be more stacked, but I think 154 is more exciting.

It's a decent division, but I don't see it as stacked, that's all.

I deleted the post because I decided the thread was too effing ****** to participate in, BUT,

it's nothing to do with who's better, comparing Malignaggi to Mayweather is just lazy. Malignaggi isn't "a poor man's Floyd", he's just Malignaggi - their styles aren't alike except for being defenders and counterpunchers, even if they share some of the same techniques they don't put them together in an aesthetically similar style, so it's just a ****** thing to say.



And yeah, Kirkland's fun -- and, jokes aside, he's better to watch than Jeff Lacy ever was -- but Valero was a different zone of feral intensity (and had a lot more potential besides).

does malignaggi not employ the shoulder roll like floyd? doesnt malignaggi use his movement to get out of range from punches like floyd? hence the comparison. a poor man's version. that is basically what a person means when they use the words poor man's or rich mans version of so & so. of course they are not the equal aesthetically or skill wise hence the poor man's version.

as for kirkland & valero, they are very similar in terms of potential, skill level, opponents fought, & intensity.

both fighters best fights were against similiar level opposition kirkland with joel julio & valero with mosquera (before demarco). both have high offensive workrate with little disregard for defense & both have high stamina workrates. how could you gauge if one fighter has more feral zone of intensity? was that after he killed his wife & self?

have you seen kirkland fight?

have you seen kirkland not fighting but sittind in the stands?

they both have the same pissed off facial expression.

both valero & kirkland have the same aggression level. their ko records & aggressive demeanor & trouble with the law justify the comparison.
