if you look at all of valero's 1st round kos its by accumulation not julian jackson put to sleep power. he didnt topple de marco with one punch. even the vicente mosquera who was his best win prior to de marco he never put to sleep with one punch but through accumulation.

to say valero was this julian jackson one punch knock out machine is fraudulent.
I don't know bro, Pitula is a very durable guy man. And, I was there live when Valero starched him out in 2 rounds. I have not seen Kirkland do that to a durable guy.

        The hell?

spoken like a true phony as i suspected. every heavy handed fighter has one punch ko power BUT NOT TO THE EXTENT THAT YOU GUYS MAKE IT OUT TO BE WITH VALERO.

any heavy handed fighter can look like julian jackson the 2nd if you are figthing bums.

as valero's competition increased in japan, he started getting lesser 1 round kos & more middle round accumulations stoppages.

Kirkland may not have that Valero one punch KO power but he definitely hits hard. Definitely see the comparison with the relentlessness. They always come at you non-stop with an intent to kill.

Both definitely had huge potential. So I think it's a good comparison. I don't think Kirkland has a bad chin, but it's not great either. It's his style which makes for great fights kind of like Arturo Gatti(who I don't want to try and make any more comparisons with) but like Gatti he can get hurt but it just makes his style more exciting when he comes back with the KO.

I agree he hits hard. His power is nothing to be in awe of though.

Kirkland is so wild and so 100 miles an hour with it that he will get bombed on if he fights the right guy. The layoff. Dude might not never be the same. He pretty much ****ed himself.

                  Well, Clay,

I deleted the post because I decided the thread was too effing ****** to participate in, BUT,

it's nothing to do with who's better, comparing Malignaggi to Mayweather is just lazy. Malignaggi isn't "a poor man's Floyd", he's just Malignaggi - their styles aren't alike except for being defenders and counterpunchers, even if they share some of the same techniques they don't put them together in an aesthetically similar style, so it's just a ****** thing to say.

And yeah, Kirkland's fun -- and, jokes aside, he's better to watch than Jeff Lacy ever was -- but Valero was a different zone of feral intensity (and had a lot more potential besides).

You post that clip and say his chin is ****? He was not even that hurt and came back to blitz the other dude the rest of the round.

I hope you got more evidence.

But that's the beautiful thing about the sport of boxing. In reality the truth is that every fighter is one punch away from going down, but the best adn most exciting part is watching it all go down and watching a fighter come through the adversity!
