The worst thing Paulie could do would be to try and walk in and trade.
Paulie was never coming forward against Hatton. And Ricky didn't outbox or outspeed anyone, that's a myth, a flight of Hatton's own fancy that people like to parrot - he was just able to walk through the guy without any real offensive response as soon as Paulie felt his power, because Paulie realized he didn't have anything to keep Hatton off him, didn't even have a right hand, and was in a damage-limitation/survival mode from the 2nd or 3rd round on.

And Paulie in 2008 wasn't Paulie, I don't care what anyone says. Paulie now might not be in a full state of renaissance, the jury's still out, more is needed than 2 fights with a blown-up, shopworn Diaz to assess that fully, but he's certainly an improvement on the '08 version.

It depends how and when Paulie decides to come in against Amir, if he does.

Khan's footwork is not great at all. Dunno where you got that idea from. Paulie's is better.

Diaz and Khan are like apples and oranges.

I respect the fact you like Paulie, but in all seriousness - how do you see Malignaggi winning this fight? A KO? A decision?

Lol at Khan being a bigger puncher than prime Cotto. Cotto was a BEAST. Khan can overwhelm you with speed and pop, but his power is nothing like Cotto's. Paulie can take Khan's punches over the course of the fight. Say what you want about him, but he's got a hell of a heart. He took a serious beating against Miguel. I don't know where all these people are getting the idea that Khan will KO him.

Nothing at all, man, that's not what I meant to imply. Rather, I'm saying that Khan was the guy with all the distinct advantages in attributes and natural gifts. Maybe Salita never beats Khan, anyway, but from what I know of his ledger to that point, he wasn't anything like adequately prepared for what Amir brings to the table in ability (not experience) terms.

Paulie is a lot more seasoned than Salita, and that's something I hope factors into the fight tonight.

Where did I say Diaz and Khan were anything alike?

Did you actually comprehend the post?

Here's a question (repeated from before) - why are some of you guys all of a sudden acting like Khan has zero vulnerabilities or flaws beside suspect punch resistance?

You're talking this guy up like he's a killer. Dude isn't any killer - sure, he's got great handspeed and some dynamic punching ability, but he's stiff athletically, is cerebrally weak and limited in a bunch of areas. Paulie's done and shown us enough to give him a degree of benefit of the doubt that he can at least test Khan in there tonight.

So from the start of his career all the way to 2007 he was Paulie. Then for some reason from the start of 2008 all the way to the end of 2008 he stopped being Paulie. Then magically all of sudden in 2009 he became Paulie again.

Is that what we're talking about?
