I just wish posters would put this same effort into defending Floyd when people claim he ducked everybody.
Ask yourself this; do you think Floyd bends to anyone's request that isn't named Pacquiao. Floyd "Money May", "#1P4P Cash/PPV King" (this is Floyd's thinking BTW)?

Also if he was in a division that had Pac, Shane, undeated Cotto, Marg (pre-shane), Williams, Cintron......do you think he would move up to 154 and fight someone like Winky Wright while giving into all of his demands?

Well Hamed had the following guys chasing him
        Undefeated Morales
        Johnny Tapia
        Paulie Ayala
        Juan Manuel Marquez
        Enrique Sanchez
        Marco Antonio Barrera
        Vuyani Bunga
        Julio Pablo Chacon
Istavan Kovacs (HBO was willing to put money up for this ****ty fight..lol)

and countless other fighters from 118-122 willing to come up and get a payday against him. With all of that and the fact that he was in the spot light, had HBO's backing, Powerful promoter in Frank Warren, and a nice deal from HBO....do you honestly think he would have left all of that to face Mayweather, a guy who had zero drawing power at that time? I say this because I'm a huge Hamed fan, and outside of Tyson, I have never followed a fighter's career as close as I did with the prince. Sorry to sound heated but I hate when people claim that he ducked Floyd when this simply isn't true. He told him "126 or the fight isn't happening" and that was the end of it.

I believe you said something like "none of these guys wanted it with Floyd"

Why do you only answer certain posts? I asked you what made you conclude Tszyu didnt want any of Mayweather. I never got a reply.

I love Hamed. Dont get me wrong. I wont say its a duck. Its just a case of Hamed being too big of a star for Floyd at the time. Floyd was high risk, low reward for alot of fighters. Especially a big name like Hamed. I dont really fault Hamed for saying "hell no..". Not one bit. Weight issues or not. Floyd looked like a freak vs. Corralles it wouldnt make too much sense for managers to throw their guy in their with Mayweather.

When did Naz say "hell no"? I would love to see this. Thanks.

So my thinking is, if you were planing on moving if you couldnt get the fight with Marco, why could you moved up and fight Floyd for the lineal championship @130...

I understand why he didnt do it, but in today terms of "ducking"
that is a duck. But your argument is a valid one.
I remember him saying that also at one point but that was due to him cleaning out 126. What happened shortly was 126 started to heat up again and HBO was willing to invest money is several potential Hamed fights. Morales was on fire at that point and everyone wanted to see Prince vs El Terrible.

I guess we can agree to disagree on this one. I can't see how that was a duck, but if you really want to know the definition of a duck...look at how long Marquez was Hamed's mandatory, and how long Naseem kept blowing him off. That was a duck, him vs Floyd wasn't.

I remember someone posting an article where it stated Marquez had turned down a fight with Naz.

I agree with you. But I just wanted to let you by today's standards that is a "duck"

No fighter should be required to fight fighters not in their division especially when moving up in theory. However times have changed.

I have heard reports that Floyd did not want that fight and other reports that he was willing but Arum didn't want that fight.

                      Who knows?

Floyd before moving to 47 and chasing big money fights with ODLH would have fought any big name fighter.....esp at 130 and 135. In the lower weights Floyd is a fighter who couldn't understand why he had no popularity and couldn't get big money fights....to him he was the most skilled and the best, therefore he deserved exclusive contracts with HBO and big money fights.........he was upset it diodn't work that way.....and hence...now u see the new Floyd....the one that understands how boxing works!!!!!!

Floyd is a product of the current boxing system..........
