That is why I find out Floyd call out bull****. Because HE KNEW that fight could never get done. And, his fans know, at least should know, that too. But, that is why I don't get why everybody brags about Floyd calling out Kostya. When everybody damn well knew that fight was impossible to get made.

It is easy to call out anybody if you know your call out or maybe even your bluff would not be accepted.

actually before floyd fought Oscar, he was a very hungry fighter and would fight everybody.

He also wanted to fight cotto and hatton at 140 but both fighter werent ready for floyd. Floyd stop being hungry once he start getting paid more than 10 million a fight.

Most of his lost opportunity were basically boxing politics from his beef with arum and HBO beef with showtime.

Because everything the say can be used to say as reasons to why Floyd didn't fight Margarito, Cotto, or Paul when they called him out. Yet, if you use their logic against them, they will twist it around to fit their agenda. Double standards.
No Horus knows that I don't do that **** with Floyd. I have said several times that Floyd made the right decision in facing Baldomir because he was the lineal champ and #1 guy. I never knocked him for fighting him over Marg and Cotto. I'm also on record stated that if Floyd truly didn't love the sport, the I agree with his decision to retire when he did. Would it have been nice to fight Tony and Cotto? If I were a Floyd fan, the I would have to say yes. But if your heart isn't into it, why bull**** yourself, the sport of boxing and your fans?

He was only 5-4 and said he wasn't leaving 126 for anyone. He was the cash king at HBO, had a nice fight plan layed out, and actually told Floyd..."no he isn't fighting at a catchweight, if he wants to fight, come down to 126". Floyd couldn't make the weight (on top of Hamed having 7-10 different options at that time) so the fight wasn't made.

Again Hamed didn't ducked Floyd. Thats like Paul Williams asking Manny to move up to 154, but Manny tell him to come to 147 instead. Paul Williams, like Floyd during that time, wasn't in position to dictate any demands, esp. to a star like Hamed, so unless you agreed to his terms, the fight wouldn't get made. I mean we saw the same thing later on when Floyd had to bend to Oscars demands. The difference then and between Hamed was Floyd could actually make the weight Oscar wanted. Against Hamed he couldn't.
Merchant said it best "Do you actually think Hamed will fight you after tonight Floyd". Hamed wouldve got blazed. Him being 5-4 means nothing. Stevie Johnston was 5-5.

I just wish posters would put this same effort into defending Floyd when people claim he ducked everybody.

I think it would be interesting. I think both guys had the style to give each trouble.

Floyd wasn't really dominant against that style, JCC wasn't dominant against that style either. Floyd after Castillo became better against that style. But, at 130 it would of been before Castillo and Castillo was a poor mans version of JCC. Former sparring partners BTW.

I am not saying JCC would be Floyd. Because, I have Floyd clearly in the top 3 greatest SFW of all time. I wouldn't even argue with anybody who has him at #1. But, I do think the JCC fight would of been interesting. I don't think Floyd or JCC would of had an easy time right there.

Floyd probably wins by decision on points but I think his body and even face would have taken some abuse.

In his mind and really he was an elite fighter. But, in his mind that meant he deserved elite type of money. And, that was not the case.

It is shame cuz I think he could of won all those fights. And, really be the man.

Yet you claim everyone ducked him....with no supporting evidence.

Are you blaming Merchant for that fight not happening?

I actually thought he gave Floyd props by saying basically saying you too good, Hamed will duck you.

Or am I missing something here?

This post is somewhat factual. Can not argue with that other than Hamed did say if he cant get barerra in the ring he will defend his titles a few more times and then moved up to 130.. I can not remember what interview he said it in but it was post fight interview.

So my thinking is, if you were planing on moving if you couldnt get the fight with Marco, why could you moved up and fight Floyd for the lineal championship @130...

I understand why he didnt do it, but in today terms of "ducking"
that is a duck. But your argument is a valid one.

I think his hunger left after the Castillo rematch.

I always wanted him to fight Stevie Johnston at 135. Stevie was better than Sosa and Ndou. And, he was willing to fight.

I have heard reports that Floyd did not want that fight and other reports that he was willing but Arum didn't want that fight.

                      Who knows?
