I see your an after the fact kind of dude cause I don't think you or nobody else thought Baldomir, Oscar, Hatton, Marquez or Shane were has-beens before Floyd beat them.
Baldomir was the linear champion
Oscar was coming off a KO win
Hatton was undefeated and some picked him to win
JMM was arguably P4P #1 with his very controversial loss to Manny
Shane was another linear champion coming off a vicious KO of the most feared fighter at 147 (:-) and was suppose to be Floyd's toughest opponent.

It's another campaign to discredit Floyd but I see clearly that if it was Manny requesting OST Floyd would've been had his license revoked.

I agree. Its not Pacs fault they werent undefeated. Only undefeated champions Mayweather beat was Corrales which was good and Hatton who wa overrated. Hatton was glorified for beating an ols Tsyzu and Castillo. Hatton only fought bums lol and soccer players lmao. Whats spectacular about Pac is that he beat all those ppl 34lbs and 41lbs above where he started his career. Mayweather would need to fight at MW and SMW to become a 7 weight class champ. Sugar Ray Robinson won at LW, WW, MW, LHW. That would equal to seven weight classes today. Its not everyday you get a fighter like Pac. In the last 30 years we have seen five weight class champ such as SRL, Hearns, and De La Hoya.

pac wont be the biggest challenge for floyd? so youre telling me, a fighter who throws 4-5 punch combos from all angles, has amazing foot work, great chin, great head movement, darts in & out with endless pressure, and matches floyds conditioning, DOESNT pose a challenge for floyd?!?!?! youre too biased homie...

logically, i slightly favor floyd SD over pac... but i dont see it as easy work for floyd... contrary to what most of you believe, pac has a pretty good jab... watch the cotto fight again, he used it effectively to set up miguel...

i agree, larry merchant is being a little TOO biased as an analyst... but lets not forget he has seen the greatest fighters in the ring. i totally understand his lack of interest in a floyd UD.... especially since he's seen hagler/hearns, leonard/hearns, etc.... anybody who witnessed sugar ray leonard in action will obviously find floyd anticlimactic.... floyd cant finish off an opponent the way leonard finished of floyd sr. HAHA.

although floyds a boxing genius, he tends to sap the energy out of the building. LOL. people were leaving after the 10th round @ floyd/shane.

pac has head movement? it wont be easy for floyd but it wont be the hardest fight hes ever had.... pepople leave because most people thought he would lose and 80% of people who call them selves boxing fans only like knockouts and dont understand boxing is actually an art. the other 20% actually found the fight quite exciting because it was pugilism at its best only a new botty boxing fan who has no idea about technique and what real boxing is would call floyds performance against shane boring

Real talk is Floyd doesn't have the quality of opposition to compare to some of the all time greats but based on being the best from his era a win over Sergio would be the icing on the cake. He could definitely retire after that.

**** Merchant, he's a racist & a hater. He doesnt even like Floyd so this article is bias. The difference between Floyd, Ali and Manny is. Floyd has beat the best the sport has had to offer. Ali lost to the best, and Manny Pacquiao Fought the names and lost to no name fighters! Manny has been given credit to wins over fighters that floyd beat first. They say his last 2 opponents were of smaller guys. Out of 41 fights the man cant fight to people smaller?? Give me a break!

Manny lost to two guys when he was like 18 and 19 when he was a poor little malnutritioned kid. Phillipines is probably like Mexico and have poor amatuer tournaments. Probably turned pro with no experience and Mayweather turned pro after he got experience. Mayweather didnt go pro at 16. Difference between them is that when Manny moves up he fights the BIGGER fighter in that division. Mayweather fights LW and JWW and the WW division. FLOYD has not beat the best the sport had to offer. Returning from retirement he fights JMM?! Not Berto, Cotto, Margarito, Paul Williams, Clottey. Those are some of the best boxing has to offer and when did Mayweather beat them? Floyd fought at 154 too right so when did he beat Sergio Martinez??
