I see your an after the fact kind of dude cause I don't think you or nobody else thought Baldomir, Oscar, Hatton, Marquez or Shane were has-beens before Floyd beat them.
Baldomir was the linear champion
Oscar was coming off a KO win
Hatton was undefeated and some picked him to win
JMM was arguably P4P #1 with his very controversial loss to Manny
Shane was another linear champion coming off a vicious KO of the most feared fighter at 147 (:-) and was suppose to be Floyd's toughest opponent.

baldomir was a joke, i didnt buy the ppv....for a floyd fan, you shouldve known it was a HUUUUUGE mismatch.... the WW division was stacked but floyd fought oscar for name recognition and exposure.... hatton was another joke, i didnt buy the ppv.... marquez was a HUGE mismatch, but i bought the ppv to watch floyd's artistry and the chance of him actually KO someone (but it didnt happen, at least the undercard was solid).... as for shane, i have no excuses... im just stating that MAJORITY of people were labeling shane faded before the fight. i was NOT one of them... i was pulling for shane (although i predicted a boring SD for floyd). i give floyd full credit for beating shane.

for claiming to be a boxing guy, you seem to let your biases get the best of you.... i understand backing a boxer you like, but discrediting another elite boxer based on double-standard reasoning, fails to legitimize your points...

• they BOTH fought the same fighters.... so no point in dismissing one but not the other....

You can now remove your mouth from his *******. To my knowledge Larry has NEVER boxed. So all he knows is what he watches from ringside. I've literally watched well over 2000 fights in my lifetime. I've gone to at least 100 fights. I boxed in the Army for four years. Does that make me an expert? A newby on this forum could still bring an insight that I nor Larry has not considered and we could be the ones that don't know what we're talking about. Larry does not know what the **** Floyd,Pac or any other fighter really thinks so he is assuming. He talks about how Floyd should be challenged and take more risks. Look at the guys like Ali, Gatti and Meldrick Taylor that entertained Larry. Many of them can not half ass talk or worst. Larry like many of you morons on here that has no clue what boxing is about. It's not about standing toe to toe and exchanging punches. That is a fight or brawl. Boxing is about hitting and not taking hits. Like I said before, if you get hit in the face that means you made a mistake or your defense needs work. If you want to watch two guys stand and swing for fences watch the UFC. Boxing is a thinking man's game. Honestly that is what made Ali one of the greatest. His biggest asset was he brought psychology to the forefront of the sport.

all these post can be settled if this professional athlete takes a blood test to prove hes clean and make the fight happen i think you guys are forgetting how simple this is..... yeah u can call it bull**** that floyd has requested it but he did while also agreeing to his opponents demand so now instead of finding every excuse in the book to support pac in not taking the test its time for him to either take the **** or tell him roach and arum to just move on instead of bringing him up every 19.8 minutes....its really that simple.... "IMO"

The difference is the timing of their matches. Manny CLEARLY has been fighting fighters after they came out on the short end of tough fights whereas Floyd fought them with great momentum and you know that's true. They are NOT on the same level. Manny is mostly hype while even Manny's trainer said Floyd wouldn't take a risky fight like Shane. Manny has been beaten and Ko'd while Floyd hasn't so your attempt to make them even is a very, very bad one.

The BS is Manny not submitting. Something is really wrong with that picture. People want Floyd to bend over backwards for Manny's ass but that would be very wrong to do. I say **** those people. They don't give a **** about him and he shouldn't give a **** about them. Why aren't people demanding that Manny submit to testing? Because people a really ****ed up out here which is why the world is so ****ed up.

**** Merchant, he's a racist & a hater. He doesnt even like Floyd so this article is bias. The difference between Floyd, Ali and Manny is. Floyd has beat the best the sport has had to offer. Ali lost to the best, and Manny Pacquiao Fought the names and lost to no name fighters! Manny has been given credit to wins over fighters that floyd beat first. They say his last 2 opponents were of smaller guys. Out of 41 fights the man cant fight to people smaller?? Give me a break!

I'm a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fan myself, but I don't think he's beaten the best the sport has to offer. And to say that Ali just lost to the best is idiotic!
