How exactly was he on the downside? After the loss, he beat the former lineal Jfw champ, and knocked him out, becoming the only person to do so, he then went on a super feather weight run becoming the lineal champ in that division while unifying the wbc and ibf titles.
How can this equate to "FIGHTER OF THE DECADE"?

Honestly who here even thought about Manny being the FOTD back in 2008? outside of Pacquiao diehards most people would tell you thats a bogus awardComment

I agree Jro. And he capped the decade off with a 142 Marquez, not even finishing strong. If he replaced that with Mosley ( 6month from a career resurrecting Marg fight ), then at least the award would not have been so clear cut. From 2000-2002 great run HOF type of run awesome resume.
From 2003-2009 his resume is nothing to brag about. The only reason I give him a pass for 2007 it was an awesome money fights. It was a great business year. But, resume wise those years nothing that stands out as all time greatness...Comment

I agree if he would of fought Shane instead of JMM then we can debate. But, as of right now I don't know what the debate is.
Now Floyd has started this decade and the year better than Pac. Shane>Clottey.
So he is starting on the right track.Comment

i love bernard, but he lost 3 fights this decade (even tho i thought he won all 3), and aside from the tarver victory, his biggest wins this decade have come against "smaller" fighters.....the same **** y'all accuse floyd of doing.
all-in-all, i'm not really concerned about who won what award, voted on by whoever. votes and elections are popularity contests, and manny is probably the most "popular" fighter of the decade.
so instead of arguing back and forth, i'd much rather these 2 come together in the ring, and let their hands do the talking. that's all that matters.Comment

He really doesn't know how good Barrera was. He boxrec him and notice that Barrera had wars with EM and lost to Junior Jones. How exactly was he on the downside? After the loss, he beat the former lineal Jfw champ, and knocked him out, becoming the only person to do so, he then went on a super feather weight run becoming the lineal champ in that division while unifying the wbc and ibf titles.Comment

I'm not in awe of Floyd's JWW-WW resume, but it's solid.
DeMarcus Corley - Not a huge win. Solid though. At the time he fought Mayweather he only had three loses.
Henry Bruseles - Solid win. Bruseles only had two loses at the end.
Arturo Gatti - Not a huge win. Complete one sided domination made it solid though.
Sharmba Mitchell - Not a great win, but Mitchell only had for loses, two of which came from Kostya Tszyu.
Zab Judah - At the time if was a semi-great win. Judah was considered one of the top WW's at the time.
Carlos Baldomir - Everyone ****s on this win, and they may have a point, but Baldomir was the lineal champ and also considered one of best WW's at the time. Baldomir was ranked higher than Margarito, and many didn't believe Floyd would be able to deal with Baldomir's size and strength.
Oscar De La Hoya - Don't understand how anyone can **** on this win, but whatever.
Ricky Hatton - Another win I fail to see how people discredit. Undefeated world champion....
Juan Manuel Marquez - P4P #2
Shane Mosely - P4P #3Comment
