Well, he probably is trying not to step on the vet
Al Bernstein's feet.
But when he does say something, he makes it count.
I disagree that he's not impressive: to me, he's rapidly
improved and has the right approach to the job.
To each his own -- even Dan Rafael at ESPN has been
raving about Tarver's work, so he has been impressing a

I think the knock on Jones was that he didnt need to be at the "meetings" so he can practice how to talk about boxing. I think that's how he fell out with HBO. I could be wrong.Comment

Tarver is very good, he isn't there to be a traditional broadcaster, but he's well spoken and speaks intelligently for the most part. That is a tough job for anyone who doesn't have broadcast training. Tyson would be great in my opinion, but he's libel to knock out the camera if it gets to close.Comment
