I have to wonder if Lewis was fired as well and often is the case companies give the higher profile employees the other of "giving notice" to save face. I could be wrong but it's not like he was a great commentator where the idea of him being let go isn't totally out of the question.

off because he had a hard time with objectivity and dissed white

Lennox wasn't a great commentator, but he's likeable.
