You don't think he added anything to the Broadcast? He would call when a knockdown was coming.Always had something to say about the way a fight put his punches together or how his feet was.I think you feel that way because he was dry with no Charisma.
He had a very basic knowledge of boxing technique, which is what you would expect from a heavyweight. It was silly listening to him give advice about what a fighter should do when the fighter had way more skills than Lennox ever showed.
Some of his comments were actually pretty insightful, and that's what he focused on.
He just didn't say them in an excitable manner, or as extroverted as some other commentators.
Roy Jones and Tarver are ok, but really people are just gona vote for exciting hype talk on the mic. You don't know what you've lost til it's gone. They'll be some daft **** still being said.
Lennox was way too full of himself while commentating. So annoying. He always found a way to compare the fights he announced to his own, in an attempt to make himself look good. Bring back Big George.
why do you think they brought him in to show comparisons and how he did his thing in the ring...any boxer that is gonna be a commentator is going to compare himself to the fighters to make it easier on the commentators that dont really know about boxing, if you were to actually listen usually what happens is the other commentators will ask his opinion and he will let them know that when he was fighting that he would do it that way he doesnt always say that it is the correct way but just the way he did it
I always got the impression Lennox was a bit intimidated by Jim and Larry's broadcasting experience. He seemed to loosen up a bit when it was Bob and Max with him.
I NEED George Foreman! Roy Jones was too arrogant, he just loved to hear his own voice. George might have had some outlandish moments, but he was hilarious!
