He does the shoulder roll exceptionally well
    He slips punches exceptionally well
    His head movement is exceptional
    His footwork is exceptional
His high guard defense is exceptional
His defense thisclose to an opponent is outstanding
His defense on the ropes is out standing

Every aspect of Defense. Floyd has MASTERED.

    Most skilled fighter ever?

I think Whitaker had better body movement control, ect, but i don't think he was all that greater than Floyd defensively..

I dont know, possibly, but i also think when Mayweather held his feet or became more stationary against Castillo he got hit with right hands.

            Defense is about even.
            Power: Mayweather
            Body Punching: Whitaker
            Hand Speed: Mayweather
            Jab: Whitaker
            Footwork: Mayweather
            Workrate: Whitaker
            Chin: Even
Accuracy: Even (Don't want to hear it, Mayweather throws less)

Name some fighters more skilled overall, punk.

Whitaker got hit more than Floyd has done generally, but then he hung with a generally better class of fighter overall throughout the arc of his career . . . that told more when he would stand in with guys closer to his own size in the lower weights, it was only a few guys above 140 who he ever really got on his bike for.

Just that Mayweather was so athletically gifted he didn't need to stand in the pocket. Be honest Dynamite...am I right or am I wrong? And you know damn well he has improved in that department!

Check this video out. My mate showed it to me..this guy was before my time but wow i am stunned by his reflexes....watch him dodge 10 punches vs a prime oscar dela hoya...the old version gave floyd a lot of trouble.

Also floyd did well..but hey he looks much better beating an old man than a young one that's for sure.

Pernell is the man...his reflexes are insane

He also went to the body better than Floyd does..........

This is the best response to this. It's ridiculous to say one is "way better " than the other . Their skills are comparable. You can argue for either but I get annoyed with some posters downplaying Whitakers defense to make their point. They obviously never watched him in his prime. That's cool but they shouldn't talk about something they don't know about.

Don't deserved to be in the same breathe as Mayweather and Sweat Pea in terms of defensive prowess.
