Would you bash Floyd if he decided to fight Martinez for the belts at a 158 catch?

Pacquiao did it for Cotto's WBO WW title at 145 and most fans defended that because he was a 'small WW'. So would you defend Floyd because he would be a small MW?

Would you be okay with this?
Manny cant do it netiher can Floyd
If he wants to come in at 2 pounds under that is on him but the limit is 160
    forget all that catchweight crap
Dont Manny Pac the division Floydie
be a real man and step up to the actual weight limit and allow your opponent the luxury as well

Cotto's decision not to risk the WBO 147-lb crown stems from the fact that the fight is going to be at a catch weight of 145 lbs and that during the negotiations, Team Pacquiao did not bother to raise the issue.
Cotto said he will only risk the WBO title if Pacquiao agrees to face him at 147 lbs.
"(My decision is) final and firm," Cotto told El Nuevo Dia in a story that appeared on the paper's July 31 issue. "The belt is not going to be on the line in the fight."
Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach, already panicky about the prospects of bringing Pacquiao somewhere else other than the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, was bothered when told about the development.
"The WBO should make it a title fight. We don’t need the fight if the title is not on the line," Roach told The Bulletin. "I want Manny to do this for a reason. I want Manny to win seven world titles. Titles are overrated but I would like to see Manny do this.""

so what the WBO did was wrong IMO. By forcing Cotto to go against its own handbook was wrong

First off Sergio Martinez may not be available to fight Floyd because he still has to wait for Pavlik to exercise his rematch clause. And Pavlik already came out with a statement that he would want another go with Martinez. And I wont be surprise if Arum forces the rematch himself just to **** up Floyd's plan...

then they petitioned to have this a title fight. Cotto did not like this but was told by Varcarcel if he didn't risk his title he would be stripped

            that my friend is unreal
Lol Cotto got jumped for his WBO title. He had everything against him, weight, politics, WBO, and even his own promoter I remember Arum talking about Pacquiao vs Mayweather during the Cotto-Pacquiao build up. Disrespect at it's finest..from your own promoter.

              That is confusing bro
its says up to 147 so they could fight anywhere from 141-147 and it would still be for the strap
How did they go against their own rules?
I think it was wrong that Cotto had to put his belt on the line but where did they go wrong?(WBO)

I believe the Pavlik fight is done, since Pavlik can't even make 160 anymore and was trying to get Sergio to make it a 164 fight.

They went against the rules, because it is against the policy to make a title fight a catchweight, especially a mandatory fight, which they were making it by threating to strip Cotto of the title if he did not fight.

They violated so many of their own rules, I'm surprised Cotto didn't take the organization to court.

i wouldn't have a problem with it. its within the mandatory weights for the title to be on the line and floyd is a natural WW at this point while martinez can easily can make 158. It's all up to martinez to accept though just like it was for cotto...

158 is not a catch weight for Martinez, he is currently the Champ at 154 and 160, so it would depend on which title Mayweather would be going after

Catch Weight is when you want to meet a guy at a weight that is out of his regular division like that bull**** Arum and Pavlik is trying to pull by asking Martinez to fight him at 164, now that is a catch weight
