I don't really give a crap if he fights Martinez at a catchweight of 158, Martinez is a natural 154 pounder anyways.
Would you bash Floyd if he decided to fight Martinez for the belts at a 158 catch?

Let's say Martinez beats Pavlik again, Pacquiao-Mayweather falls apart again, and Martinez-Mayweather gets signed for the WBC/WBO MW titles at a catchweight of 158 because Floyd decides Martinez is too big and it would be unfair to fight him at 160. Pacquiao did it for Cotto's WBO WW title at 145 and most fans defended that because he was a 'small WW'. So would you defend Floyd because he would be a small MW?
Would you be okay with this?Comment

pending if pavlik activates the immediate rematch clause.
If I'm martinez I keep the 160 lbs title to lure floyd. but his promoter isn't doing his job if they don't get him a super champ or interrim belt.Comment

Its a fine fight if Floyd would want to do that and Martinez agreed.
Its not like Martinez is at any disadvantage at all because nearly all of his career he has been fighting at 154.Comment

It would be a good win for floyd but I don't like that catchweight for titles mess. If you want the title, then the champion should be allowed to fight at the limit of that weight class.Comment

The only fighter that Floyd has tried to weight drain is Winky Wright, which I consider to be a ***** move in a way. But other than that, I have to give the dude credit for beating fighters at their best weight where not making them come down is concerned. Floyd in his days at the low weights was outweighed by a lot of his opponents like Castillo. And Pacquaio would always go into the ring bigger than Morales, Barrera, JMM, and he was even bigger than Oscar.
And the fact that Pacquiao always asks for catch weights against bigger opponents aside from Clottey who doesn't use his size is why I think Mayweather should be ranked over him P4P along with the fact he just beat Shane.Comment
