Would you bash Floyd if he decided to fight Martinez for the belts at a 158 catch?

To be honest, I don't think I'd bash him for that catch weight due to the fact that he's fought at 154 so recently. If he really would struggle that much to get down to 158 I'm not sure he'd take the match-up.

He had already won WW belts so it didn't matter. If would however at 160 as hes never fought there before.

I'm only talking about using the 154 limit for both titles being on the line, if Sergio doesn't want that I see no problem with Floyd fighting him at the MW limit, especially since Martinez probably won't step into the ring over 160.
Martinez came into the ring weighing 167-168 against Pavlik.

          Exactly man.

I guess I got carried away. I was thinking of the Catchweight that Floyd agreed to with Marquez then just casually broke.

But I have to reiterate that I do not agree, at all, with championship belts at catchweights.

I like Floyd, a lot. I am not a fanatic, but I respect his awesome ability and I enjoy watching his fights. I mean no disrespect to Floyd or his fans, just felt I should express my view on catchweights.
          All good man

then they petitioned to have this a title fight. Cotto did not like this but was told by Varcarcel if he didn't risk his title he would be stripped

but here is what people are saying and in a way you answered your own reply

being a ____weight means you are allowed to weight as low as ___ and no higher than ____

guys like Cotto and Hopkins were not allowed that under the stipulations brought to them. They were told

Cotto- even though you are the recognized WBO champion of the world you cannot weigh more than 145lbs which is a full two lbs below our own rulebook statement of "up to 147lbs"

Hopkins- even though you are the recognized middleweight champion of the world your opponent has stated you cannot be allowed the 160lb limit but now have to weight no more than 157lbs

in fact, Cotto agreed to a catchweight first then was told he HAD TO fight for his title or be stipped or am I mistaken?

and who really honestly cares what Martinez was when he is currently the middleweight champion of the world?

I don't think Cotto actually put his belt up, didn't they end up fighting for that crazy ass diamond belt?

He is fighting Sergio at a good weight for Sergio.cause he's really a jr middle.now if he fought him at 153 for the jr middle I'd have a big problem.which is what manny did v cotto. Making him go down to a weight that would harm him
