Would you bash Floyd if he decided to fight Martinez for the belts at a 158 catch?

it's not like Martinez will be drained at 155-158 because he is after all a 154 fighter...

Thats what pissed me off about that Cotto fight. He couldn't weigh the limit and had to give up his titles.
whats even more maddening is that Cotto agreed to the weight first with his title not on the line. Why else did they come up with that WBC Sparkletastic Be***eled Belt for the to fight for?

then they petitioned to have this a title fight. Cotto did not like this but was told by Varcarcel if he didn't risk his title he would be stripped

      that my friend is unreal

well don't a lot of Manny fans pride their fighter on the titles he has won in different weight divisions? something like 7 division champion or similar?

doesn't that fly directly against what you are stating?

Mayweather winning a legit middleweight title is indeed something special

you don't want to see fine but for most it is quite the accomplishment

That is not in floyd's pedigree. If you fighting for the mw title then it's limit should be fine. No catchweights for titles! Now if they wanted to fight a non-title fight, then ok

                  actually YOUR first line states

who cares what title they are fighting for

to which I counted it should care and gave you reasons why.

the middleweight title means a lot

and it should fought with the limits being 160 not whatever the more popular fighter deems it being

Pacquiao did it for Cotto's WBO WW title at 145 and most fans defended that because he was a 'small WW'. So would you defend Floyd because he would be a small MW?

Would you be okay with this?
Floyd is not a little *****. He doesn't try to win fights at the negotiating table.

Mayweather would fight Sergio at 160.

Martinez deserves to have every advantage a 160 pound champion should have. It's that simple. Also, none of us know what circumstances may occur. Maybe he'll struggle to make 158 - WE DON'T KNOW. So to avoid that, allow the MW champion to come in at the MW limit.
