I think some people miss the point about the Lewis Klitschko fight

Reading through this thread, I have seen you post some of the more ignorant notions regarding this fight in quite some time.

Lewis got his ass beat when Klitschko ended up looking like this?



Lennox Lewis landed 50% of his power shots, and that was the difference in the fight. He was the stronger more devistating puncher, and that was evident in the condition of Vitali's face:



They both elected to go toe to toe and slug it out, and that was Vitali's downfall. Anyone who brings up the fact Vitali was ahead by two rounds in a 6 round fight is trying to blow smoke. WHO CARES what the scoring was in a fight that was STOPPED because of massive damage to one fighters face?



Also, you said there was ONE cut.

There were FIVE. One below and above the eye, one below and above his lips, and one in the roof of his mouth. Estimates were between 60 - 80 stitches.

well, seeing as how lewis was the one who staggerd back to his corner at the end of the fight, lewis was the one who almost was knocked down twice, lewis was the one who had a blank look in his eye when he raised his arms, lewis is the one who would rather retire than truely prove that he won, yeah. i would have to say lewis DID in fact get his ass beat.

alright, ill admit. i was wrong about how many cuts there were. but i WASNT wrong when i said that big cut was NOT by a punch or a legal punch. there is NO WAY a cut THAT big could be caused by a punch. ive seen elbows cause SMALLER cuts than that. saying a punch caused that one big cut is just a blind lewis-lover trying to cover up for his beloved fighter.

you are wrong, because it was shown in the replays, there was never no headbutt, that was just an excuse made after the fight, but it's there for all to see that the cut was caused by a punch.

the fight in a lot of ways was a draw, lewis got the technical stoppage, VK got the satisfaction of being up on all cards at the time of the stoppage...

VK was cut to shreds, Lewis was repeatedly staggered and was clueless in the post fight interview...

VK-look at the poor guy he was shredded and what did he want...immediately he wanted to do it again...Lewis on the other hand weiged his options and he figured that he had to much too lose.

Manny Steward said all along that he thought LL would comeback...well LL proved him wrong...Manny said this most likely because he thought there was unfinished business and LL was always a guy that was willing to finish his business, just not this time.

Wait a minute here...LL avenges fluke ko losses against the likes of McCall and the Rock, but he does not give rematches to VK and Ray Mercer....two fights that were anything but flukes...

LL is one smart mother, his brain too me was always his best weapon.

I completely agree that the fight should have been stopped and counted as a Lewis tko of Klitschko. I do think, however, that he should have given Klitschko a rematch - I don't really understand why he didn't - Lewis in top form had a very good chance of beating Klitschko, even at that age.

They are decided by damage inflicted, and in this case the power shots landed tore up Klitschko's face to the point where doctors were forced to stop the fight.

The largest cut WAS caused by a punch. I suggest you watch the fight again, as they show it several times in slow motion. Several other people in this thread have also told you so, and all you're doing is sticking your head in the sand and refusing to accept it.

1. Points or scoring have NOTHING to do with a fight that's stopped as a TKO especially when there's only been SIX rounds.

2. Lewis was never in danger of going down. Klitschko nailed him good on several occasions, and backed him up, but backing someone up has NOTHING to do with anything:



Vitali's shots that backed Lewis up were nothing in compairison to the shots Lewis was landing that tore up Vitali's face.

Those were the punches that won Lewis the fight.
