I think some people miss the point about the Lewis Klitschko fight

Sometimes when people talk about that fight it seems as though the cut wasn't an issue, now i'm not trying to reopen old wounds [excuse the pun] but a cut like that warrants the fight being won in the same way as a knockout or points decision.
the fact that klitschko was ahead means nothing if his face was in that state, and i seem to have heard of a certain henry cooper knocking down ali only for the fight to be later stoped on cuts.

The thing that gets me about this situation is the fact that some people still don't regard this as a legitimite win for lewis, the fact that klistchko was winning the fight is clear, but i still think to this day that that decision was far, albeit disapointing because it stopped an exciting fight.
getting cut is a weakness just like all the other weakneses, like stamina problems, weak chin etc, and lewis exposed that in that fight, and who's to say he wouldn't have done the exact same thing again in a rematch?

can u name another time when VK was cut? i know u cant, cuz that was the only time he was cut, and it was by a headbutt. ive seen cuts, ive seen bad cuts, ive seen cuts caused by punches, and ive seen cuts caused by headbutts. and the VK/lewis cut was definatly a headbutt. it was a legal win, but lewis looked like anything but a winner in that fight.

sidenote: calling lennox lewis a top 10 HW is a true insult to the real great HWs.

The cut was caused by a punch not a headbutt and Lennox is a top 10 all time heavyweight.

well one reason is that he never met a puncher like lennox lewis before, and the cut was caused by a jagged slicing punch, it was clear on the replays.

that was the worst cut ive ever seen in any fight, be it boxing, UFC, or anywhere else. like i said, ive seen punch cuts, and ive seen headbutt cuts, and there is no punch in history that could have caused a cut like the one on vitali klitschko's face.

Ok let me shake it down for you fine folks...

Lewis was throwing a gross right hand the entire night, usually his right hand was a thing of beauty but that night it was awful...he landed a looping right high on the head and his glove with the duck tape grazed VK's eye...it was part punch and then it was aided by the tape, there is littel doubt.

Now, did Lewis win of course he did but failing to recognize that Lennox Lewis retired with unfinished business is just being a moron. There should have been a remtach, in the horrible state the HW division is in now that fight would have been a true superfight and we were deprived of that.

Why was there no rematch, the fight was stopped on a cut, both men were hammering each other, going to war...VK was ahead on everyones scorecard...why the **** didn't we get to see it again? Who knows when the next time a real HW superfight will come around again it may be sometime...why was there no rematch?

LL was supposedly fighting better than at anytime in his career yet his swan song in the ring played out with him down on all three cards...again why was there no rematch?

Klitschko might have been landing more shots but Lewis was throwing bombs and landing. Klitschkos face looked like paper mache ripped apart. It was in horrible condition and if another 6 rounds would have continued Lewis would have targeted that eye even more. It irritates me as well, Lewis beat Klitschko convincingly.
