Montie got power. That is no lucky punch. I don't like ref Cole but he did the right thing. Hasegawa's was holding the rope, he should just took a knee.

lol...check out the haters here with their pathetic excuses "oh it was an early stoppage".."oh hasegawa was winning all the rounds"...rofl..you guys are pathetic...first of all this is a 12 round fight,12,12!! it wasn't a 5 or 6 round fight, only 3 rounds had been scored, they had the 4th round to score with 8 more!! wake up people, stop with the excuses,if this stoppage happened in the 10th round,11th ok,i can see your point how hasegawa was dominating him until that stoppage, but please, only 3 rounds had been scored, and this early stoppage excuse is bs,i saw the replay on youtube and hasegawa wasn't even fighting back,so his arm was on the ropes,so what,he was all dazed when ref stopped the fight, look at his reaction, bet didn't even know what hit him..the article says some rounds were close and could have gone either way,in other words it's not like haseawas was so dominant, montiel could have gotten those rounds in his favor..montiel is a good fighter, throws good combinations,is fast,he's good,if hasegawa wants rematch, good, but this time it should be in america or if it's in japan, obviously montiel will want to be paid more....all you haters are pathetic with your excuses

I don't see how Hozumi got exposed? You guys get off that ****. He ended the reign of a 14 defense champion. And he was a hypejob for that? He even gave the guy a rematch and put him on ice in 8. And he is a hypejob for that?

              GTFO, really.

If every champion that losses is 'exposed' then fuck. None of your favorite fighters that has a loss is a legit champ, their all exposed when they lose.

And everyone who is defending Hozumi isn't even talking about the ko. Their talking about the time left on the clock. YOU DON'T STOP A TITLE FIGHT WITH 1 SECOND LEFT. IT SCREAMS CONTROVERSY.

It was competitive indeed until Hasegawa was caught with a clean hook.. Props to Montiel! But a rematch is I think much better to see!

i think the only guy that will beat montiel is donaire when he goes up,he's just too big,to me he's more of a jr.featherweight, not because he's skilled,i think montiel is a much more complete fighter, but i think donaires power will win it for him,i think montiel beats anselmo moreno, who's an exellent boxer, but he will probably have to do his mandatory, funny how people here were saying montiel was afraid of morel, that seems funnier now after montiel just unified and morel looked awful against peņalosa, but i think the mandatory is long due

He didn't get exposed, Hasegawa is a very good fighter. He just lost to another very good fighter.

However, this is to be expected. Many people where going around here, saying "he's unbeatable at 118", he's "The King of Bantams", or he stops this guy and that guy in five rounds. I enjoy watching Hasegawa, but people were making these claims on the fact he was stopping the likes of Mulinga, Rocha, Faccio, etc. Had he been doing this to the likes of Moreno, Agbeko, Perez, etc, then those comments would be warranted. He beat and stopped Sahaprom, but Sahaprom wasn't at his best and that was five years ago. So naturally, there would be a backlash.

As I said earlier, I favored Hasegawa to win, but Montiel was a live dog. People just didn't respect him.

It was a bad stoppage, Hasegawa should of took a knee. Nice KO win for Montiel
