Damn. I was kinda hoping to see Hasegawa win and move up. Great win for Montiel though and hats off to him.

He may have said it but I don't think 118 suits him anymore. He looked slow and sluggish his last 2 and I think weight has something to do with it.

well, only he know his body,if he says he can with proper time he'll make it,like he said he had proper time for this fight,he didn't look slow to me in this fight, montiel already offered him the rematch too,so let's see what they decide, even if there is no rematch, montiel don't need him, there are a lot of good fighters there, anselmo moreno is an excellent boxer,he can fight donaire who he has had trouble making weight, and i think donaire is too strong for montiel, montiel would lose to him, donaire to me is more of a jr feather, would like to see montiel/moreno by the way, hasegawa didn't look sluggish in his last 2 fights,he kicked ass,ko in 4 and ko in 1....not sluggish to me

Nah. Hozumi looked perfectly fine his last 2 fights. His footwork was still on point, his hands still had speed to them. Nothing wrong with him at all. Difficulty making weight and difficulty fighting at weight are totally different things.

Montiel was just harder to figure out than other fights. Before Hozumi could figure him out, Montiel was beating him up against the ropes. Simple as that.

Rematch in Mexico. Make it happen. I don't want Montiel to lose the belt or become shot after fighting a tough fight. Give Hozumi the instant rematch, so if Montiel loses there wont be no excuse of him being over the hill.

I'll post the fight here since this thread is getting a lot of hits and people might want to watch it.

From the vids that you posted, I can see why cats were high on Hasegawa. You does have skils.

Montiel made a very nice adjustment in the forth, and found Hasrgawa everytime.

              Good win for Montiel.

Haha and almost every one on here was hating on montiel saying he was gona knoked out. It was the other way around montiel should be a pound for pound fighter he has raked up a lot of good wins with out loosing and this last one was the best.

Just can't believe it.I was so sure hasegawa was going to win.It never even crossed my mine hasegawa could lose.Hasegawa should of went down and let himself recover instead of staying up on the ropes.
