However, this is to be expected. Many people where going around here, saying "he's unbeatable at 118", he's "The King of Bantams", or he stops this guy and that guy in five rounds. I enjoy watching Hasegawa, but people were making these claims on the fact he was stopping the likes of Mulinga, Rocha, Faccio, etc. Had he been doing this to the likes of Moreno, Agbeko, Perez, etc, then those comments would be warranted. He beat and stopped Sahaprom, but Sahaprom wasn't at his best and that was five years ago. So naturally, there would be a backlash.

As I said earlier, I favored Hasegawa to win, but Montiel was a live dog. People just didn't respect him.
    Great post,

BTW, speaking of Moreno did you get to see his fight with Cermeno?

          lol, like me.

Man, Shadow. I can't argue the left hook but the 1 second left is what kills me. It just leaves too many loose ends. It's like when Hozumi beat Sahaprom the first time, it was a little controversial.

All I can hope is that Montiel lets my boy get a rematch and that this loss was a fluke.

            Hasegawa shocked by Montiel!!!

Hozumi Hasegawa didn't get exposed, he just got caught with one heck of a left hook in the mist of an exchange at the end of the 4th round. Hasegawa had in fact one every round including the 4th. Hasegawa can recover. He should either fight Montiel in a rematch or move up in weight. Montiel should either fight a rematch with Hasegawa (which would make him a lot of money) or fight either Nonito Donaire or Vic Darchiniyan.

I am not sure the rematch will happen. I think Hasegawa is moving up. I even think he will skip 122 and go straight to featherweight.

I haven't seen the fight since this morning, but if there's something that Montiel did expose about Hasegawa, it's the fact that Hasegawa drops his hand when he throws. Hasegawa does it a lot, but no one's been able to capitalize on it. There was an exchange, and then Montiel slide over and landed a hook. I'll watch it again, but that's how it looked to me.

The fact is, the ref is not a time keeper. He saw Hasegawa take a few heavy shots and he was on the ropes with one arm that appeared to be holding on to the middle rope. Montiel was throwing, and Hasegawa was pretty much open. You can't blame him for that, IMO. He was just looking out for the safety of the fighter.

montiel willing to give rematch: " Avalado por su representante Fernando Beltrán, el nuevo campeón gallo del Consejo dijo estar dispuesto a conceder el desquite a Hasegawa, pero ahora en el estadio de Los Mochis, Sinaloa."
for those who don't understand,he's saying he'll give him a rematch, but this time in mexico, and that's fair,so if hasegawa wants it,he has it..now he has to travel and face the unified champ

That's great from Montiel! Rematch in his hometown would be beautiful.
