Montiel clearly isn't what he used to be and he still smoked this guy.

I always said Hasegawa was overrated on here.

Nothing impressive to me about fighting only in Japan and knocking out Japanese bums.

He's lucky Yohnny Perez never got his fists of fury on him.

Did you catch the fight? If so do you agree with the scores?

Yeah I think the second round was close and could be scored either way but I thought the 1st and 3rd were clearly Hasegawa's.

I'll post the fight here since this thread is getting a lot of hits and people might want to watch it.

That's why he never came to the US, because he knew he would get the BIZ!
wtf does coming to the US have to do with anything?
he fought the best in the division, in Japan, and probably got big bank for it.
no way he wouldve made as much money in the US.
dont get it twisted, even in the US, fighters in those divisions dont get paid big bank or get much attention.

                Good post.

I hate the word hype. As if every fighter who loses a high profile fight like this was all 'hype'. It was one very good fighter beating another very good fighter.

To think no one had faith in Montiel.

Wow.. with only 10 seconds left in the round, Montiel humped on Hasegawa's head like there was no tommorow. Montiel's still got that killer instinct within him. Beastly!

                    Clottey should learn from Montiel.
