When a boxer quits he loses my respect.

Quiting isn't ok. It's cowardly and brings into question the integrity of the sport.

    That is my opinion.

no, its NOT ok to quit. it IS ok for ur corner to stop the fight, because they know when ur taking too much punishment and ur life is at stake. as a fighter, u never know when too much is too much. ur corner can make u quit, but u cant quit urself.

you know what you people are complete morons.when did either klitchko quit because they were losing?let me see 0 times.vitali was winning vs bryd and was injured so quit.one fight so now in every post either he or his brother are bashed while raping ******ed disgraceful idiots like tyson are still praised and respected.tyson quit k-tsyzu is a quitter,so was duran but they are still worhipped arent they?
if you are getting punched and you feel dizzy and decide if you continue you might be injured then quit it is no shame in that.no point in dying just to prove something to you people.but just quitting because you are losing unless you are hurt really hurts boxing.
no true real great champion ever quit .robinson ali hagler hearns foreman frazier every quit they gave it their all each time.but things change men are becoming weaker this country is becoming weak.people like tyson who never showed any courage heart or anything else are loved.a man like tyson who ****s women, tries to **** little girls.who makes ****** statements are still respected while decent good human beings like the klitchkos are bashed.

....Yeah, I don't know if you can call a guy who cries during a fight a warrior. One could also say the DLH quit in his fight with Hopkins. Oh my ribs!!! My poor akin ribs. That was the best acting job ever!!!

Nowadays, on nearly every big fight card, somebody quits. WHAT THE F#@%????? Since when is quitting acceptable? Where's the heart? Courage? Where's the freakin' cojones?

I believe we need to categorize fighters a little more accurately in this new age of boxing. Forget about weight classes, experience level, quality of opposition. There's only 2 things I want to know about fighters now: Are you a WARRIOR, or a QUITTER?

Here's a tentative list, in no particular order.... feel free to add/subtract/modify:

QUITTERS: Tyson, Tszyu, Abdullaev, both Quitschko's, Freitas, Golota

WARRIORS: Gatti, Mayweather, Corrales, JL Castillo, Judah, DeLaHoya, Barrera, Morales, Pacquaio, Winky, Margarito, Johnson, Tarver, Hopkins

....Abdullaev could not see anything out of his eye. That was the most legitimate quit I have seen. Tyson should be in his own league for quitting more than once. He quit when he bit Evander, he tried to quit when Botha was beating him(see attempt to break Botha's arm many times), He quit mentaly when Lewis whipped his ass, He quit against Williams, and he certainly quit when that big goofy dork whipped his sorry ass. Tyson is the most heartless of the bunch by far. The others shouldn't be judged by one quit. Have you ever put your sorry Cali ass in the ring before? I suspect you would be a curl up in a ball type of dude anyway. Probably a silk shirt wearing half a cali ***. WTF do you know about anything???

Harsh words from someone with 2 transvestites in his/her avatar....

& once again the repetitive old "have you ever fought before" angle, well yes I have, and yes I won, and I won because I DIDN'T QUIT, the fact that you not only condone quitting, but make light of it & respect it, shows a lot about your own character....so what if Abdullaev's eye was swollen??? You must have missed Gatti-Rodriguez, I hate Gatti, he showed a championship heart, & I have mad respect for guys who don't quit, it's sad that you don't have the same outlook but it's your life and your opinion, quit as much as you want in life, it won't affect mine

bless you Santino, finally, someone who sees things my way!

If these guys wanna quit, fine, but don't try to demand respect and/or a paycheck to fight after quitting in the ring

our respect is THE ONLY THING that matters, because we're the ones who pay $50 on TV and $500 for ringside tix to see the fights (or am I the only one???)....

basically the new breed of fighter, in general, wnats to have their cake & eat it too, they want the $$$ and glory but aren't willing to pay a big price to get it.....Ali, Holmes, Frazier, Hearns, Leonard, all of those guys have visible physical damage, and obvious speech impediments, from their boxing careers, but guess what? That's the price you pay to become a LEGEND. You can't get there by repeatedly quitting and letting the fans down who pay big $$$ to watch fights....once again, just one man's opinion, everyone feel free to passionately disagree and voice your opinions on how quitting is perfectly OK
