I do not believe he is a prospect, I believe he is a contender big difference. He was a prospect before he fought Richard Gutierrez after that fight he was really turning into a contender. Interestingly enough before the P. Williams fight, a fight between Angulo and Martinez probably wouldn't have been seen as a great mismatch. So what that he has 20 fights? JC Chavez Jr.has 30+ fights but he is still a prospect and it is not the number of fights it's the quality of opposition a fighter faces, Angulo to his credit has taken tough fighters a lot tougher opposition than Chavez Jr. so no Alfredo Angulo is not a prospect. Another thing to consider is that Alfredo Angulo can easily be in the top 5 of division. We got Martiniez, Williams, Foreman, Dzindruik, and Angulo can be in that mix (can be interchangeable with Cintron depending on Williams-Cintron) we cannot include Cotto or Margarito because they have not proven themselves at light middleweight yet, but Cotto can be a top light middleweight if he beats Foreman. The fact is Angulo is not far from title contention so he will have to fight Martinez or another top light middleweight ANYWAY. If his promoter feels he is in for bigger fights then a Angulo-Williams or Angulo-Martinez shouldn't be outrageous. This division is packed with great fighters, but few name fighters. I agree that Margarito or Cotto will be fine to develop his career but it seems to me that his handlers simply do not want Angulo to fight fighters that can present him some problems. If not Martinez or Williams how about Dzindruik? Even Foreman can present problems for Angulo. That is what HONEST fighters do they fight whoever even those who present problems to them. Because that's what they do HONEST fighters thrive on adversity because it makes them stronger and fight all the much harder. I have been a trainer in this game my whole life and ALL my fighters live by that code. Before you are a superstar in boxing you are a fighter ALWAYS.

cotto than fought the wrong fight. In a rematch cotto learns from his mistakes and beats margo, especially now that marg's chin has been cracked, and even thought Angulo is bigger, he's slower, more one dimensional and less of a volume puncher than margarito. Angulo just throws straight punches, cotto would just have to use his jab move to his left and counter over the top with lefts and straight rights, but thats easier said than done, but imo cotto outboxes angulo and tears him apart.Comment

Besides the fact cotto can't box all 12 rounds we seen that against margarito he gasses out now it will be much quicker since he already has 3 beatings on his record with margarito he was undefeated with no prior punishment so when he was fresher he folded under the pressure what makes you think he will be able to pull it out now with a much stronger guy that applies the same pressure margarito does.
The cintron fight he was able to keep the pressure off in the early rounds because cintron is a strong puncher than cotto. But the later rounds cintron barely pulled it off he was close of getting dropped props for him for being in great shape that he bareley made it in a rematch cintron would fold to the pressure especially since angulo started of slow and that fever he had before the fight. But it is styles makes fight. Now to Foreman he can probably outbox angulo he has the shape to do it and is a better boxer with better defense than cotto cotto gets hit way to much. To margarito the winner will be the one with the strongest chin plain simple as that.
If you are a boxing fan you gotta realize styles makes fights. Lot of people are going for cotto to beat foreman don't be surprised if he gets kod or outboxed. Foreman if he wanted to apply more pressure he would of kod santos but didn't do it after dropping him several times santos was a pretty solid champion so foreman is no soft opponent.Comment

Margarito destroyed Cintron worse than he did Cotto and Cintron schooled Angulo so the theory that Angulo can do to Cotto what Margo did is false.Comment

Angulo has a higher chance of KOing Cotto, if he throws to the body, he will eat uppercuts....then what? What if Cotto's punches don't faze Angulo and he keeps coming, what will Cotto do then? Box? Ok, but he is still getting tagged and hurt, then what? See to beat Cotto you must pressure the **** out of him, walk him down and not be hurt by his punches, Angulo's chin so far seems good, so I see Angulo pulling a Pac/Tony and beating Cotto down and KOing him.Comment

Correction cintron bareley pulled the angulo win he was so close to being dropped he was gassed out. Did you see at the en of the 12round he couldn't even get on top of the ropes that he was falling down and a member of his camp held him up the ropes to celebrate??? Now don't we always hear that ****** phrase. He bet him so then I should beat him. STYLES MAKES FIGHTS your theory is false. cottos weakness pressure guys with good chins. Angulos style pressure guy with good chin outstanding power go by that don't go with what boxer lost to which opponent.Comment

I know triangle theories don't work, but when Cotto fights a guy who is naturally bigger than him and Tony and pretty much has the same style of fighting, its EXTREMELY possible to see a repeat of Tony vs Cotto if he fights Angulo.Comment
