Face facts everytime he had a real test and encountered effective resistance he quit. Against Holyfield he quit in the second fight by biting so he would be dq'd. The knee exscuse is common in boxing when a guy quits. Against McBride his eyes were clear when he got up after the knockdown, then he quit. I only got to see the first three rounds but I thought to myself he (McBride) has a chance now and quess what. A fighter can quit and still give the impression of trying but actually allow himself to be knocked out. Tyson went this route with Holyfield, Lewis, Williams and McBride.

He bit Holyfield out of retaliation from head butts, and McBride didnt knock him down he leand all his weight and pushed him down, so what if quit it dont take away what he did back in the day.

You sholud listen to Teddy Atlas's comments on training Tyson and working his corner in the amateurs. How many times Tyson wanted to quit during a fight or was scared of some big guy and Atlas talked him round. I'm not denying Tysons physical gifts as a young fighter, but he needed constant reassurance and once D' Amato (sic) Atlas and then Rooney were no longer there to get him through his mental bumps (and keep his skills sharp) he started his decline. I think it's sad that a man who pocessed all the physical gifts was so fragile mentally. When all is said and done I think of Tyson for what he could have been.

And as for Holyfield butting him bull****, it was a left hook that cut Tyson and even if Holyfield had butted him that's no excuse to behave like an animal. So McBride pushed him down, quitting after a push is worse than quitting after a knockdown don't you think?

You're making too big a deal out of potential. Baer had even more physical gifts than Tyson (including a great chin and tons of stamina on a taller rangier body) but do you see anyone putting Baer in the top ten? HELL NO! You need to take into consideration career accomplishments of the fighter in question and both Baer and Tyson lost to guys they never should have.

I have Tyson in the top 15, probably 11 or 12. Lewis and Holyfield both rank above him.

What's this bull**** excuse that Tyson doesn't care about fighting anymore, therefore quitting was ok? He had five million reasons to care. Tyson was by far the biggest fraud in the history sports, not just boxing.
